Your role as Senior Design DeveloperDialogue is building a connected care experience where quality, trust, and speed matter. As our first Senior Design Developer, your primary focus is enabling designers and developers across Dialogue to ship faster-with higher quality, accessibility, and consistency-by strengthening the design system, patterns, and contribution workflows. Your north star is adoption: making the design system easy to use, easy to trust, and safe for many people to contribute to-so squads ship faster with less drift.
What you'll be doing- Enable teams to ship UI faster and more consistently: Build the foundations (components, tokens, patterns, docs, examples) and provide the support (pairing, office hours) that make the design system the default path.
- Drive design system adoption: Partner with squads to migrate to shared components, run enablement (docs, examples, office hours), and make it the default path-not the "nice to have" path.
- Own UI quality as a system: Identify sources of inconsistency (UX drift, edge cases, accessibility gaps), fix them at the right level (component, token, guideline, lint/test, workflow), and prevent regressions.
- Create strong design 14 engineering collaboration: Improve handoffs and day-to-day pairing so designers and engineers can iterate faster with fewer misunderstandings.
- Make safe change easy: Build contribution workflows (how work gets proposed, reviewed, merged, released) so improvements can come from many people-not just you.
- Support AI-assisted building responsibly: Explore how AI can accelerate UI iteration while keeping guardrails so changes remain consistent, reviewable, and safe to ship.
We'd love to hear from you if you have- Senior-level design & engineering experience: 5+ years building design systems & component libraries for digital products teams.
- Frontend development depth: Strong experience shipping production UI and comfort with code quality, testing, and maintainable architecture.
- Design fluency: You can interpret and challenge design decisions, spot UX issues early, and implement nuanced UI details without hand-holding.
- Accessibility experience: Practical ability to build accessible components and interactions (WCAG-informed), not just "run a checklist."
- Systems mindset: You naturally look for leverage-solving root causes and building foundations instead of repeatedly patching symptoms.
- Collaborative influence: You can align stakeholders, explain tradeoffs, and move work forward across Design, Product, and Development. You're comfortable influencing without authority and building trust through partnership.
- Experience in regulated / high-trust product areas (privacy, reliability, auditability)
- Experience using AI tools to improve speed and quality in your workflow.
