We are seeking a
Sr. Demand Planner, who is responsible for supporting the demand review process as part of the overall Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, with responsibility to improve processes and mentor others. The role is the integration point between the sales, supply chain, and production planning teams.
Key Accountabilities:Demand Planning and S&OP- Own and maintain monthly item-level forecasts, including new products, across assigned customers and markets.
- Lead regional and local demand reviews with Sales and Account Management, driving alignment on assumptions, risks, opportunities, and the unconstrained demand plan.
- Serve as a customer-facing demand planning expert, effectively communicating Berlin's planning capabilities and building customer confidence in our ability to forecast and manage their business.
- Partner directly with customers, Sales, and Account Management to understand demand drivers, upcoming initiatives, new opportunities, and changes in customer behavior and translate them into actionable forecasts.
- Analyze historical trends, orders, inventory, market intelligence, and other demand signals to develop and continuously improve forecasts.
- Monitor forecast accuracy and bias, identify significant variances versus forecast, budget, and actual sales, and lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Planning, Ops, and other stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities and ensure alignment between demand and supply plans.
- Drive continuous improvement through demand segmentation, exception management, demand-pattern analysis, customer-behavior analysis, and improved planning processes.
- Ensure Kinaxis and related planning tools are used effectively, consistently, and in accordance with established planning processes.
- Proactively communicate material demand changes, customer issues, and business risks to regional and central Supply Planning.
- Develop and maintain meaningful reporting and insights that support business decisions and the S&OP process.
- Demonstrate Berlin Values through strong ownership, collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a focus on profitable results.
Mentor & Develop Others- Mentor employees, with a focus on enhancing their Demand Planning, Logility, and S&OP skills-including Statistical Forecasting and Advanced Logility functionality.
- Support a continuous improvement mode of operation.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: - Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Planning or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in a demand planning or related role
- Working knowledge of demand planning systems such as Kinaxis, Logility, Blue Yonder
- Proficient in MS office applications.
- APICS certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) is preferred
- Sound knowledge of supply chain functions including, demand, replenishment and sourcing processes
- Strong systems / process orientation with proven analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrates the ability to learn Berlin Packaging's business, products, customers, and suppliers
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills with the ability to reason and influence at all levels
- Ability to develop and lead a team of individuals
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment while demonstrating ability to handle complexity and resolve conflicts that may arise from balancing multiple priorities
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing company needs and deadlines
- Highly organized and detail oriented, with strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize and follow up
Working Environment: Sales and Distribution Center Office
CA Base Pay Range
$95,000-$115,000 USD
