  • Develops and maintains risk decision-support strategies using analytical solutions to enable high-quality, fact-based decisions for a designated risk portfolio.
  • Manages interface with Consumer Credit Bureaus including interpreting credit bureau manuals, sourcing granular data and the creation of aggregate variables.
  • business intelligence, and the design and development of sophisticated decision support tools.
  • Supports development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Supports change management of varying scope and type; tasks typically focused on execution and sustainment activities.
  • Acts as a resource for team members with less experience
  • Assists with the maintenance, monitoring, measurement & reporting on the status of the risk decision strategies performance.
  • Supports the development and maintenance of system and process documentation / process controls / knowledge assets required for the operation.
  • Supports the maintenance, monitoring, measurement & reporting on the status of the risk decision strategies and key risk indicators to internal & external stakeholders.
  • Supports the planning and execution of the change management process including simulation, validation testing and reporting requirements to evaluate the effectiveness of the new or modified strategies.
  • Provides advice and guidance to assigned business/group on implementation of analytical solutions.
  • Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of business product strategies and related risk management requirements and legislative/ regulatory directives..
  • Works with data owners to discover and select available data sources from internal sources and external vendors (e.g. lending system, payment system, external credit rating system) to fulfill analytical needs.
  • Works with internal and external stakeholders to understand the capabilities of risk models and core risk systems to ensure effectiveness of risk decision strategies.
  • Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Ensures alignment between stakeholders.
  • Presents findings & recommendations in a simple, clear way to drive action.
  • Consults with stakeholders to improve consistency and transparency of risk measurement, metrics and reporting.
  • Monitors and tracks performance; addresses any issues.
  • Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus.
  • Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules.

Qualifications:

  • Typically between 4 - 6 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Working / in-depth knowledge of Consumer Credit Bureau data and products
  • Exposure to Consumer Loan Origination Systems (CRIFF a plus)
  • Working / in-depth product knowledge for the designated business / portfolio.
  • Working / in-depth knowledge of risk management theory, processes and portfolio management reporting techniques.
  • Woking / in-depth knowledge of modelling & analytics concepts and applications.
  • Working / in-depth knowledge of risk systems technology.
  • Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

Salary:


$74,000.00 - $138,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
