Full Job Description
Summary:
Client Agency is Defense Logistics Agency.
Experience in DBMS system analysis and programming.
Experience in using current DBMS technologies and application design using various database management systems; experience with DBMS internals.
Must be capable of providing highly technical expertise and support in the use of DBMS.
Must be able to evaluate and recommend available DBMS products to support validated user requirements.
Defines file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.
Develops, implements, and maintains database backup and recovery procedures for the processing environments and ensures that data integrity, security, and recoverability are built into the DBMS applications.
Support for all Oracle application database implementations in physical/cloud environments.
Assist application team(s) by loading schemas, scripts, and data into Oracle or Microsoft SQL databases as required.
Create primary objects (tables, views, indexes) and modify primary objects, as necessary, to address issues raised by application developers.
Control and monitor user access to the database. Enroll users and maintain system security.
Monitor and optimize the performance of the database by running monthly Oracle Automated Workload Repository (AWR) reports, reviewing reports, and recommending database optimizations to improve application performance.
Assist with performance tuning or troubleshooting application database-related issues/errors that may occur specific to the use of Oracle database technology for the application as appropriate.
Provide consultation and knowledge sharing on database requirements for new and existing projects.
Assist application team with interfacing with the J64 DBA infrastructure team.
Assist in finding, researching, documenting, and remediating application Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) findings.
Assist with troubleshooting and resolving database problems.
Provide support for the upgrade of Oracle to later releases once approved for use by DLA.
Requirements:
Must possess IT-II security clearance or have a current National Agency Check with Local Agency Check and Credit Check (NACLC). (Basic Federal Clearance requirements are U.S. Citizenship, clear criminal history check, no recent or pending bankruptcies)
Five (5) years relevant experience
Ability to run Automated Workload Repository (AWR) reports.
Must have a Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate.
