Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Administrator to join our NACB Database Deployment and Support Team. This role is responsible for ensuring the availability, security, performance, and reliability of enterprise database platforms across both on-premises and cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise in Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, AWS RDS, Oracle GoldenGate, and database automation technologies. This individual will work closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, and fellow database engineers to support critical business applications and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
Database Operations & Support
  • Provide day-to-day administration and support for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and AWS RDS database environments.
  • Monitor database health, performance, and availability, ensuring compliance with service level objectives.
  • Investigate and resolve database incidents, problems, and operational issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Participate in an on-call support rotation and assist with major incident resolution activities.
  • Support database changes, releases, upgrades, and maintenance activities while minimizing production risk.
Database Platform Management
  • Administer and maintain Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server database environments, including AWS RDS platforms.
  • Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot Oracle GoldenGate replication environments.
  • Perform database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities.
  • Support database patching, upgrades, migrations, and platform lifecycle management.
  • Ensure database security, compliance, and operational best practices are consistently followed.
Automation & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop and maintain automation solutions to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
  • Utilize Configuration as Code (CaC) principles for database provisioning, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Implement and support database deployment automation using Liquibase and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Create and maintain automation scripts using Python, Bash, Ansible, or similar technologies.
  • Contribute to observability, monitoring, and reliability initiatives across database platforms.
  • Identify opportunities for performance tuning, optimization, and cost reduction.
Collaboration & Technical Consulting
  • Work closely with application, infrastructure, cloud, and SRE teams to support project delivery and operational stability.
  • Provide technical guidance on database design, deployment, migration, and performance optimization.
  • Support audit, risk, compliance, and security review activities.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions, documentation, and operational process improvements.
  • Participate in technology evaluations and innovation initiatives related to databases, cloud, automation, and AI.
Qualifications & Skills
  • 10+ years of experience in enterprise database administration and support, preferably within financial services or a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Database and Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience supporting cloud database platforms, including AWS RDS.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle GoldenGate replication, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Experience with automation and scripting using Python, Bash, Ansible, PowerShell, or equivalent tools.
  • Hands-on experience with Liquibase or similar database deployment automation tools.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), AWS CloudWatch, Dynatrace, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles and operational excellence practices.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

$70,000.00 - $150,000.00
