ASSYST is seeking a
Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with
15+ years of database administration experience to support database design, administration, performance tuning, optimization, and operational activities across multiple platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in
DB2 for z/OS, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server, along with extensive experience in
z/OS environments, database architecture, monitoring, recovery, and infrastructure support.
Roles & Responsibilities- Perform daily database administration and operational support for DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, and GIS environments.
- Design, implement, maintain, and optimize database structures and schemas.
- Monitor and tune database performance and troubleshoot database-related issues.
- Support DB2 for z/OS upgrades, catalog maintenance, application integration, and point-in-time recovery.
- Develop and maintain database administration procedures and technical documentation.
- Perform SQL code reviews and support database optimization.
- Support infrastructure implementation, change management, verification testing, and disaster recovery activities.
- Utilize database and z/OS monitoring tools to identify and resolve performance issues.
- Collaborate with technical teams on data architecture and application integration.
- Provide training and mentoring to other technical staff.
Required Skills- 15+ years of combined database administration experience.
- Strong expertise in:
- DB2 for z/OS
- Oracle 10g+
- Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2/2012
- Advanced knowledge of DB2 for z/OS administration, performance management, upgrades, catalog maintenance, and recovery.
- Strong knowledge of JCL, z/OS, ISPF, CICS, RACF, COBOL, and ASG Scheduler.
- Experience with DB2 and z/OS monitoring tools.
- Experience with SSMS, SSRS, SSIS, Windows Server, and Azure.
- Knowledge of CA GEN, IBI z/OS, AFOPER, IOF, z/OS EXITs, and BJS.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and infrastructure change management.
- Strong SQL, troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Experience with integrated database/application environments is a plus.
