We are hiring for a Senior Database Administrator (DBA) opportunity. Role: Senior Database Administrator (DBA) Location: Remote Position: 1 Role Overview: We are seeking a Senior Database Administrator with extensive hands on experience managing enterprise relational databases in AWS and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM Db2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, and relational database management systems. This is a hands on leadership role requiring the ability to guide DBA teams, establish operating standards, manage business critical database platforms, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive continuous improvement across the database environment. Key Responsibilities: • Administer, maintain, and support enterprise database platforms across AWS and hybrid environments • Manage IBM Db2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and AWS RDS environments • Perform database installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning • Monitor database health, availability, performance, and resource utilization • Perform database performance tuning and optimization • Troubleshoot complex database incidents and conduct root cause analysis • Implement preventive actions to reduce recurring database issues • Manage backup, restore, recovery, replication, high availability, and disaster recovery processes • Support database recovery testing and ensure platforms meet service level, resilience, and recovery requirements • Partner with application, infrastructure, cloud, security, engineering, and service management teams on database architecture and technical solutions • Support technical design, change planning, operational readiness, and database delivery activities • Lead and mentor DBA team members by setting priorities, coordinating work, and reviewing technical approaches • Provide technical direction during incidents, upgrades, migrations, and other high impact activities • Identify opportunities to automate database administration and improve operational efficiency • Improve monitoring, controls, standards, and database management processes • Support database security, access management, documentation, governance, compliance, and audit activities Required Skills: • Extensive hands on DBA experience in complex enterprise environments • Expert level experience with IBM Db2 • Expert level experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration • Expert level experience with PostgreSQL administration • Expert level experience with AWS Relational Database Service (RDS) • Strong knowledge of relational database management systems • Experience with database configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning • Experience with backup, recovery, replication, and high availability • Experience with database patching, upgrades, and migrations • Experience supporting mission critical systems with high availability, performance, security, and recovery requirements • Strong experience working with AWS database environments • Ability to troubleshoot issues across databases, applications, operating systems, networks, and cloud infrastructure • Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, or coordinating database professionals • Strong technical judgment, accountability, communication, and stakeholder management skills • Self directed and proactive approach to problem solving Preferred Skills: • Strong AWS infrastructure experience • Experience supporting large scale, highly available, or regulated environments • Experience with database automation and scripting • Experience with cloud operations and infrastructure monitoring • Experience with IT service management and formal change control processes • Experience with AWS database services beyond Amazon RDS • Experience supporting cloud database migration initiatives • Experience with Infrastructure as Code practices • Experience managing hybrid database environments • Experience establishing DBA standards, governance, and operational processes Education Requirement: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent professional experience may be considered.
