About the role...We are seeking an experienced, innovative and motivated developer to support our Business Analytics initiative. The role will collaborate closely with other IT staff as well as with business partners reporting to the Senior Director of Business Analytics. Responsible for Data Load and Transformation processes that populate the Data Warehouse, and systems related to the Data Warehouse. Will design, build and manage Data Warehouse Load and Transformation solutions of varying complexity, and will ensure completeness and efficiency of solutions and adherence to technical standards. The position will also play a critical role partnering with other development teams, testing and quality, and production support, to meet implementation dates and allow smooth transition throughout the development life-cycle. We're looking for someone with strong troubleshooting instincts who is energized by digging into complex data issues, and whose natural curiosity drives them to understand not just what broke, but why - curiosity is a key competency for success in this role.
Road Scholar offers a remote work environment. The compensation range for this exempt level salaried position is $110,000 - $130,000 based on experience.
In this role, you will...- Design, build, and manage Data Warehouse Load and Transformation solutions, including documentation and adherence to technical standards
- Supports data modelling and actively collaborates with team members on warehouse and reporting design
- Partners with business teams to understand business processes, and effectively translates and articulates technical design and implementation concepts to business partners
- Ensures exceptional quality of deliverables through rigorous design review, testing, and compliance, and is accountable for the performance and efficiency of solutions
- Provides production support and troubleshooting for Data Warehouse systems, quickly diagnosing and resolving data and pipeline issues to minimize business impact
- Escalates issues and provides feedback on program specifications
We're seeking...- 7+ years of proven IT and business/industry work experience in a development role
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or equivalent work experience)
- Knowledge of and experience with Data Integration design, SQL, ETL-Tools, and data warehouse design (star schema, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Oracle is a must, including experience with Oracle Autonomous Database (ADB)
- Experience with Boomi or a similar integration/ETL platform
- Experience with ingesting data from API-based data sources and SQL Server
- Comfortable working in Linux environments, including file manipulation, and experience automating file transfers via SFTP
- Strong troubleshooting skills, with a proven ability to diagnose and resolve production issues in complex data pipelines
- Self-starter with a great curiosity and ability to learn new skills and technology quickly - curiosity and a drive to understand the "why" are key competencies for this role
- Ability to prioritize multiple deliverables, and respond under pressure with competing priorities
- Ability to display creative thought leadership, drive results, innovation and change
- Must possess strong written, verbal, analytical, problem solving, and communication skills
