Position Description:

CGI is seeking a Senior Data Platform Infrastructure Engineer to support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise scale cloud data platforms within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role is responsible for building and maintaining secure, scalable, and production ready infrastructure that enables modern data processing and analytics solutions across development, test, and production environments.

This role is located at a client site in Reston, VA. A hybrid working model is acceptable.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

CGI is seeking a Senior Data Platform Infrastructure Engineer to support the design, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise scale cloud data platforms within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role is responsible for building and maintaining secure, scalable, and production ready infrastructure that enables modern data processing and analytics solutions across development, test, and production environments.

The ideal candidate will bring strong AWS cloud expertise, hands on experience with Databricks, AWS EMR, and AWS Glue, and a solid understanding of infrastructure automation, platform security, governance, monitoring, and operational resiliency. Working closely with data engineering and platform teams, this individual will help establish best practices for cloud infrastructure, automate deployments, support CI/CD processes, and ensure the platform meets performance, security, and reliability requirements.

This position requires a proactive engineer who can work independently, solve complex infrastructure challenges, and contribute to the continuous improvement of cloud-based data platforms.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. 5+ years of experience supporting cloud-based data platforms, infrastructure engineering, or related data engineering environments. Strong experience designing, deploying, and supporting AWS based data platform infrastructure.
. Hands on expertise with Databricks administration and platform management.
. Experience supporting AWS data services including EMR, Glue, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, IAM, EC2, and EFS.
. Proficiency in Python and PySpark for data engineering and platform support activities.
. Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
. Knowledge of AWS networking, security, encryption, IAM roles, secrets management, and access controls.
. Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines using GitLab.
. Familiarity with monitoring, logging, alerting, and operational support processes.
. Understanding of data governance, metadata management, data cataloging, and storage integration.
. Experience with disaster recovery, backup strategies, platform resiliency, and high availability architectures.
. Ability to establish and enforce security, performance, and cost optimization standards.
. Experience working with AI assisted development tools and modern engineering practices.
. Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
. Self starter who can work independently and take ownership of platform operations and improvements.

Desired Skillset:
AWS certifications (such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Data Engineer, or AWS Certified Developer) are preferred but not required.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $108,300.00 $154,300.00.
