Description
Join a high performing team in support of a transformational software replacement project for the Washington Courts of Limited Jurisdiction (District and Municipal Courts). We are replacing a legacy Case Management System with a commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) solution to improve services for the court and probation customers of AOC.
The Courts of Limited Jurisdiction (CLJ-CMS) project is seeking an experienced Data Migration Specialist to join a high-performing team of technical specialists. This position will work with the project's Business Analysts and Vendor to identify field level data mapping, migrate data from SQL Server and other data sources and convert it over to the COTS products.
This position is responsible for designing, testing, and executing data conversion routines to migrate data from legacy databases into the new COTS database using current ETL tools and best practices. The successful candidate will create and implement automated validation routines to report on and ensure that data quality, integrity, and completeness are maintained. This position will participate in design reviews of high risk, high impact statewide systems and services.
Reporting to the CLJ-CMS Project IT Supervisor, this senior-level position is expected to work independently and has decision making responsibility commensurate with the role.

*Duration: This is a CLJ-CMS project position that is currently funded through December 31, 2027.
WASHINGTON STATE RESIDENCY AND TELEWORK INFORMATION
AOC requires employees to reside in Washington State. Any exceptions must be approved. If you are invited to interview and currently reside outside of Washington State, seek more information about residency requirements from the AOC hiring manager of this recruitment.
This position requires at least two (2) days per week working onsite at AOC facilities

Duties
  • Works with project and agency business analysts and technical staff as well as vendor resources to identify field level data mapping, moving data from SQL Server and other data sources and converting it into COTS products.
  • Responsible for designing, testing, and executing data conversion routines to migrate data from legacy databases into the new COTS database using current ETL tools and best practices.

Qualifications
A combination of education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge of the duties, responsibilities and competencies of the Senior Data Migration Specialist may substitute for the qualifications listed.
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, OR closely allied field, AND:
  • Eight (8) years of experience in a complex information technology environment TO INCLUDE:
    • Five (5) years of experience using modern ETL and data cleansing tools, such as: Informatica PowerCenter Designer, Informatica PowerCenter Workflow Manager, Informatica PowerCenter Workflow Monitor, Informatica PowerCenter Repository, and/or SQL 2012 or higher programmable objects.

  • Experience with Git source control and CI/CD technologies is strongly preferred.

  • Experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes and tools is highly desirable.
