- Develops overall strategies to guide the design of Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) processes to support internal enterprise applications, and designs, constructs, tests, optimizes, and deploys these processes.
- Provides directions to more junior data management specialists on all Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) phases related to the definition, design, development, and implementation of new subject areas for enterprise application databases.
- Creates highly complex ETL workflows from data sources to data stores.
- Develops ETL processes using various tools in the most complex portions of the agency's data environment.
- Develops optimized stored procedures, functions, and database views.
- Ensures all data flow diagrams created and maintained for all ETL processes adhere to established standards and practices.
- Creates and maintains detailed source-to-target ETL mapping specifications.
- Leads efforts in defining database requirements, analyzing existing models, and reports looking for opportunities to improve their efficiency, and resolving technical problems.
- Translates highly complex business requirements into application designs and solutions.
- Proficient in utilizing Microsoft 365 products, including Teams, Outlook, Word, OneNote, PowerPoint, and others, with expertise appropriate to the responsibilities of the role.
- Develop ETL audits and controls to ensure quality of data meets or exceeds defined standards and thresholds.
- Conducts reviews of other data management specialists' work products.
- Communicates data problems and issues to key stakeholders, including both technical and business end users.
- Responds to customer service requests and provides senior-level troubleshooting, problem resolution and consulting.
- May perform lead duties for a workgroup. These duties may include resolving procedure or workflow conflicts, providing input to the manager regarding managerial issues, and informing the manager of needs, issues, and concerns.

QualificationsA combination of education and experience demonstrating a working knowledge of the duties, responsibilities and competencies of the Senior Software Developer may substitute for the qualifications listed.
A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, OR closely allied field,
AND:- Eight (8) years of experience in a complex information technology environment TO INCLUDE:
- Five (5) years of experience using modern ETL and data cleansing tools, such as: Informatica PowerCenter Designer, Informatica PowerCenter Workflow Manager, Informatica PowerCenter Workflow Monitor, Informatica PowerCenter Repository, and/or SQL 2012 or higher programmable objects.
THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL ALSO HAVE SOME OR ALL OF THE FOLLOWING EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES- Advanced knowledge of data modeling and database design at the conceptual, logical, and physical level.
- Experience in modern ETL and data quality tools while working in a environment of great technical complexity.
- Significant working experience using modern source control tools, such as Azure DevOps.
- Capable of evaluating and making recommendations related to improving ETL and data cleaning components utilized in the enterprise application databases and overall information delivery solutions.
- Capable of translating the most complex business and functional requirements into detailed technical designs and the delivery of ETL processes according to specification, participating with business analysts to gather requirements, and producing technical specifications.
- Advanced skills in ETL methodologies and data manipulation requiring highly complex database coding.
- Expertise in the integration of data cleansing services into ETL processes to satisfy the needs of the business community.
- Ability to create workflows based on business specifications.
- In-depth knowledge of the SDLC sufficient to effectively lead code reviews with the development team as needed.
- Perform system, regression, and user acceptance testing using both manual and automated test processes with all assignments and work products being delivered.
- Ability to understand customer expectations and meet those expectations.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and resolve problems in a consultative manner bringing problems together with recommendations for solutions.
- Ability to understand the overall impact of the enterprise to independently manage high-risk, high- profile initiatives impacting services.

Holidays Full-time and part-time employees are entitled to paid holidays and one paid personal holiday per calendar year.

Full-time employees who work full monthly schedules qualify for holiday compensation if they are employed before the holiday and are in pay status for at least 80 nonovertime hours during the month of the holiday; or for the entire work shift preceding the holiday.
Part-time employees who are in pay status during the month of the holiday qualify for the holiday on a pro-rata basis. Compensation for holidays (including personal holiday) will be proportionate to the number of hours in pay status in the month to that required for full-time employment, excluding all holiday hours. Pay status includes hours worked and time on paid leave.
Sick Leave Full-time employees earn eight hours of sick leave per month. Overtime eligible employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month, earn a monthly proportionate to the number of hours in pay status, in the month to that required for full-time employment. Overtime exempt employees who are in pay status for less than 80 hours per month do not earn a monthly accrual of sick leave.
