Job Description

The House of Commons' Digital Services and Real Property is currently looking to staff the Senior Data Developer position for a one-year term.

This recruitment and selection process is restricted to House of Commons employees.

As a Senior Data Developer, you will play a key role in advancing the House of Commons' enterprise data management and analytics capabilities. Working within the BI/DM Program's Core Enterprise Data Team, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data solutions that support operational excellence and data-driven decision-making. You will provide technical leadership in data modeling, integration, governance, security, and quality management while helping to establish standards and best practices across the organization.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and operational partners to translate business requirements into scalable and reliable data solutions. You will support the delivery of enterprise reporting, analytics, and self-service business intelligence capabilities by designing robust data pipelines, promoting data quality, and enabling access to trusted, actionable information.

Qualifications

Education :
  • Graduation from a college or university or technical institute in information technology, data management, or a related field OR an acceptable combination of education, training, and relevant experience.

Experiences :
  • Experience designing and implementing enterprise data solutions, including data modeling and integration;
  • Experience developing and maintaining data pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics platforms;
  • Experience applying data management practices, including data quality, governance, metadata, and lineage;
  • Experience working with business intelligence and reporting tools, such as Power BI;
  • Experience translating business requirements into scalable technical solutions and data structures;
  • Experience implementing data security, compliance, and lifecycle management practices;
  • Experience monitoring, optimizing, and troubleshooting data platforms to improve performance and reliability;
  • Experience collaborating with business and technical stakeholders and providing technical guidance and mentorship.

Assets :
  • Experience in leading IT initiatives, IT projects or IT Teams;
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview;
  • Experience with Microsoft Fabric;
  • Experience with software development tools;
  • Experience with data management tools.
