National Interstate is looking for a Data Engineer to join their team. This individual will either work hybrid from the Richfield, OH office 3 days per week.
National Interstate’s culture is built on connection, shared learning, and strong relationships. To support this, employees in this role are expected to be on-site a minimum of three days a week, with the potential to work two days remotely. Core in‑office days are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday but will be determined by business needs.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities
Defines and governs the enterprise data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical models, data flows, and integration strategies that support business objectives.
Leads the design and governance of data integration solutions and oversees the optimization of databases, data warehouses, and analytical environments to ensure performance, scalability, and resilience.
Establishes and enforces enterprise standards for data modeling, metadata, and governance, including policies and controls to ensure data quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
Conducts analysis to define requirements for data acquisition, access, and usage, enabling informed, data-driven decisions. Leads the development and of data governance policies and controls, ensuring data quality, security, and regulatory compliance.
Evaluates and recommends emerging data technologies and practicesto enhance architecture and analytics capabilities.
Oversees the creation and maintenance of comprehensive documentationfor data architecture, standards, and governance processes.
Collaborates with senior stakeholders across business and technology teams, influencing strategic initiatives and ensuring data architecture supports enterprise priorities.
Provides thought leadership through workshops, advisory sessions, and guidance on enterprise data architecture and strategy.
May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and may have a participatory role in decisions regarding talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor27s or Master27s degree in information technology, Computer Science or a related field.Prefer: Informatica Cloud, Snowflake, ODS, ETO experience
Experience: Generally, a minimum of 14 years of experience in data architecture, data management, or a related field. Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation preferred, such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) or AWS Certified Big Data 2D Specialty.Company:
