This position is located in our Fairfax,VA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable.
Your future duties and responsibilities: . Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of enterprise data warehouse solutions across hybrid environments including on prem SQL Server and cloud platforms such as AWS/Snowflake.
. Develop and maintain enterprise conceptual, logical, and physical data models supporting reporting, analytics, and AI/ML workloads.
. Architect and validate migration strategies, including landing to staging to curated zone patterns, Snowflake implementation approaches, and automated lineage capture frameworks.
. Define and enhance data integration patterns, ETL/ELT pipelines, and transformation frameworks to support modernization and streamline operations.
. Provide senior technical leadership to development teams, data engineers, and junior data architects to ensure consistent design standards and architectural best practices.
. Establish and enforce data architecture governance, including modeling standards, metadata practices, naming conventions, lineage frameworks, and documentation requirements.
. Collaborate with cloud engineers, DevOps teams, security organizations, and product owners to ensure architecture meets performance, resiliency, scalability, and compliance goals.
. Evaluate existing on prem data warehouse structures and design cloud native replacements or enhancements that align with future state target architectures.
. Support Agile delivery processes by participating in backlog grooming, decomposition of architectural features into user stories, and ensuring architectural traceability.
. Contribute to platform reliability by designing solutions that enhance monitoring, observability, data quality, and operational automation.
. Develop architectural artifacts including diagrams, specifications, mappings, SOPs, and design blueprints required for transition planning, audit, and compliance.
. Provide expert guidance during incident resolution, data quality investigations, and performance troubleshooting as needed.

. At least ten (10) years of experience in data warehousing, data modeling, and data analytics within complex enterprise ecosystems.
. Proven experience leading data architects, solutions architects, or cross functional technical teams delivering large scale data modernization initiatives.
. Deep expertise with SQL Server-based data warehouses, dimensional models, snowflake schema design, and normalized/denormalized modeling patterns.
. Strong experience with AWS and Snowflake data platforms, including warehouse configuration, schema design, security models, data pipelines, and performance optimization.
. Demonstrated ability to architect cloud migration strategies that support hybrid operations, automation, lineage tracking, and secure data flows.
. Strong familiarity with DevSecOps, CI/CD, automated testing, and cloud native data engineering practices.
. Ability to create and maintain architectural artifacts for technical, operational, and compliance stakeholders.
. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate architectural concepts into actionable direction for developers and leadership.
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field.
Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
. Master's degree in a data related discipline.
. Experience supporting federal data, analytics, or regulatory programs.
Experience supporting enterprise analytics platforms, data blending tools (e.g., Alteryx), and BI ecosystems undergoing modernization or transition.
. Experience with metadata management tools, data cataloging, and data governance frameworks.
. Familiarity with Business Objects, Alteryx, or other analytical systems relevant to on prem to cloud transitions.
. Professional certifications: AWS Solutions Architect, Snowflake Architect, Data Management or Governance certifications, or similar.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $127,500.00 $310,700.00.
