Position Summary

The Senior Data Analyst - Transportation & Distribution is responsible for transforming transportation, warehousing, and supply chain data into actionable insights that improve service, operational performance, and cost efficiency. This role develops and maintains KPIs, dashboards, scorecards, forecasting models, and advanced analytics to identify trends, uncover root causes, and drive data-driven decision making across the logistics network. The position partners closely with business leaders to evaluate optimization opportunities, build business cases, quantify savings, and support the implementation of process and network improvements. Additionally, the analyst plays a key role in logistics technology initiatives by supporting data integration, master data management, system implementations, and reporting solutions that enhance visibility and operational effectiveness.

This is a hybrid role with the requirement of working onsite in Mentor, OH 3 days/week. Up to 15% domestic travel. This role is not eligible for Visa Sponsorship or H1B Transfer.

What You'll do as a Senior Data Analyst, Distribution and Transportation

• Collaborate with Transportation and Distribution leaders to establish and maintain a multi-year analytics roadmap that aligns business priorities with data, reporting, forecasting, and optimization capabilities to drive measurable operational and financial results.
• Analyze transportation, distribution, warehousing, and logistics performance data to identify cost savings, service improvements, capacity constraints, and operational optimization opportunities.
• Develop actionable business cases and recommendations by executing Transportation RFQ's, evaluating network scenarios, transportation strategies, carrier performance, inventory positioning, and optimization opportunities.
• Present findings, recommendations, project updates, and realized business value to logistics leadership and key stakeholders, influencing strategic and operational decisions.
• Design, develop, and maintain executive dashboards, scorecards, and KPI's using industry data visualization tools like Tableau & Power BI ensuring all stakeholders and users are properly training to drive adoption of new tools
• Monitor key transportation and distribution performance indicators, investigate performance gaps, drill into underlying operational data, and partner with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
• Partner with Transportation, Distribution, Procurement, Operations, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to evaluate and execute carrier sourcing events, transportation RFQs, network optimization initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
• Serve as the functional expert for Transportation Management System (TMS), Warehouse Management System (WMS), dashboards, and logistics-related data sources, ensuring data integrity, master data governance, and reporting accuracy.
• Collaborate with IT, Data Engineering, and Business Intelligence teams to define data requirements, improve data accessibility, support system integrations, and implement scalable analytics solutions.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve data quality, data integrity, master data, and process issues that impact operational execution, reporting accuracy, and decision-making capabilities.
• Research emerging logistics technologies, market trends, transportation best practices, and analytical capabilities to continuously improve performance, visibility, and operational effectiveness.

The Experience, Skills, and Abilities Needed

Required Experience

• Bachelor's Degree.
• 5+ years of experience in transportation, distribution, logistics, supply chain analytics, operations analytics, or a related analytical role.
• 5+ years of experience gathering, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to identify operational improvement opportunities, cost savings initiatives, and business insights.
• 3+ years of experience developing and maintaining dashboards, scorecards, KPI reporting, and data visualizations using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar business intelligence platforms.

• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, uncover root causes, evaluate operational performance, and develop data-driven recommendations.
• Strong transportation and distribution business acumen, including knowledge of freight operations, carrier management, warehousing, logistics networks, inventory flow, and supply chain processes.
• Expertise in business intelligence, reporting, and data visualization tools, including Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms, with the ability to create actionable dashboards and executive-level scorecards.
• Proficiency in data analysis and data management, including data extraction, transformation, validation, cleansing, and interpretation from multiple data sources.
• Ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong business case development and financial analysis skills, including ROI calculations, cost-benefit analysis, savings quantification, and opportunity prioritization.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to influence leadership decisions through clear, concise, and compelling recommendations.
• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills, with the ability to build relationships and partner effectively across Transportation, Distribution, Supply Chain, Operations, Procurement, Finance, and IT functions.
• Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and independently lead initiatives from concept through implementation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, particularly when working with large datasets, KPI reporting, financial analyses, and operational recommendations.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment, balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day analytical support.

Pay range for this opportunity is $85,000 - $110,000. This position is eligible for bonus participation.

Minimum pay rates offered will comply with county/city minimums, if higher than range listed. Pay rates are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to local labor market costs, years of relevant experience, education, professional certifications, foreign language fluency, etc.
