Position Overview
Join us in our support to the US Space Force (HQ USSF) Commercial Satellite Communication (COMSATCOM) Office (CSCO), where you will help shape the future of assured, resilient SATCOM for our warfighters and mission partners. As a key member of a highly collaborative, mission-focused team, you will apply your expertise to help deliver innovative commercial SATCOM capabilities, integrate a transformative COMSATCOM business model into the broader SATCOM enterprise, and translate complex operational needs into effective, affordable solutions. In this role, you will work directly with COMSATCOM customers and stakeholders, providing trusted guidance, insightful analysis, and clear recommendations that drive real-world impact in a rapidly evolving space domain. Job duties include:
Responsibilities
- Lead analysis of COMSATCOM usage, capability inventory, and demand data to identify trends, forecast future requirements, and support business operations decision-making.
- Develop and maintain analytic methods, metrics, reports, and forecasting approaches used to assess COMSATCOM usage, demand signals, cost drivers, and mission needs.
- Design and produce leadership-ready reports, dashboards, briefings, and data visualizations for USSF CSCO leadership, senior stakeholders, and external data calls.
- Evaluate data quality, source reliability, statistical significance, and analytic limitations to ensure conclusions are traceable, defensible, and appropriate for decision-making.
- Develop DoD COMSATCOM usage forecasts by integrating historical demand, customer requirements, operational trends, commercial market considerations, and program inputs.
- Lead or support analytic studies with COMSATCOM SMEs, including cost analyses, courses of action comparisons, business case analyses, market research, demand assessments, and commercial capability assessments.
- Translate ambiguous leadership questions into structured analytic tasks, define the data needed, develop the analytic approach, and produce clear findings and recommendations.
- Coordinate with USSF program offices, operators, engineers, financial managers, acquisition personnel, and commercial providers to collect data, validate assumptions, and resolve analytic gaps.
- Review work products prepared by junior or mid-level analysts for accuracy, clarity, traceability, and alignment with stakeholder needs.
- Maintain awareness of global, regional, operational, and commercial SATCOM trends that may affect COMSATCOM usage, demand, capacity, or capability planning.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analytics, operations research, business analytics, economics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or a related analytic field.
- Bachelor’s degree in data analytics, operations research, economics, business, engineering, mathematics, statistics, information systems, or a related field.

- Demonstrated experience developing analytic methods, metrics, dashboards, forecasts, or recurring reporting products for government or mission-focused stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data sets, identify trends and data quality issues, and communicate findings in a clear and decision-ready format.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook, including advanced Excel functions, data tables, and presentation-ready charting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience briefing or presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
- Ability to manage ambiguous analytic taskings, define an approach, coordinate inputs, and deliver accurate products under deadline pressure.
- Ability to support on-site client meetings within the National Capital Region.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in data analytics, operations research, economics, business, engineering, mathematics, statistics, information systems, or a related field.
- Experience supporting USG, USSF, DoD/DoW, or other federal space, SATCOM, telecommunications, or national security programs.
- Familiarity with COMSATCOM provider business models, commercial SATCOM markets, usage-based billing, service provisioning, or capacity planning.
- Experience using Power BI, Tableau, Python, SQL, R, or similar tools to automate analysis, develop dashboards, or improve recurring reporting.
- Experience supporting acquisition analysis, business case analysis, market research, cost analysis, or demand forecasting for federal programs.
- Familiarity with federal acquisition processes and analytic rigor standards used in DoD or federal decision support.
- Experience mentoring junior analysts or reviewing analytic work products for accuracy, clarity, and traceability.
Pay Transparency
The salary range for this role is $100,000- $140,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
