Full Job Description
Overview

Stellar Solutions is seeking a Senior Cyber Program Support Specialist to support a proposed Space-Based Sensing and Tracking (SBST) enterprise. This role provides cybersecurity-focused program-office support for government customers developing, acquiring, integrating, and transitioning advanced sensing, ground, mission-data, and related enterprise capabilities. The position is designed for a cyber professional who can help the Government and technical teams identify cyber risks early, coordinate execution across multiple organizations, and keep cybersecurity considerations integrated with program decisions, engineering activities, acquisition milestones, and mission readiness.

Role/Responsibilities/Qualifications

This is a senior program-support and cybersecurity advisory role, not a narrow cyber-tool administration position. The successful candidate will work across government program offices, systems engineers, mission users, acquisition teams, development contractors, FFRDCs, and cybersecurity stakeholders to strengthen cyber resilience across SBST-related programs. The role may support space, ground, mission processing, data transport, cloud/edge, and operational environments, depending on customer priorities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior cybersecurity and program-office advisory support for SBST, Environmental Monitoring, AMTI, GMTI, mission-data transport, ground processing, and related space-based sensing capabilities.
  • Help government program offices integrate cybersecurity considerations into technical planning, acquisition strategy, requirements, architecture assessments, development oversight, test planning, and transition-to-operations activities.
  • Coordinate cybersecurity execution across government teams, prime contractors, developers, FFRDCs, and mission stakeholders; identify dependencies, risks, decision points, and actions needed to maintain delivery momentum.
  • Support cyber risk management, mission assurance, vulnerability-management planning, security engineering integration, assessment readiness, and remediation tracking across complex development and operational environments.
  • Assist with development and review of cyber-related requirements, technical specifications, security constraints, architecture inputs, risk registers, plans of action and milestones, and program decision materials.
  • Advise on cybersecurity implications of system interfaces, software and hardware changes, ground-system integration, mission-data flows, cloud or edge processing, and operational workflows.
  • Help assess the operational suitability and sustainment readiness of cybersecurity capabilities, tools, processes, and workflows as systems move from development and test into operations.
  • Support technical reviews, readiness assessments, program reviews, engineering boards, acquisition milestones, and contractor performance discussions by providing cyber-focused analysis and recommendations.
  • Contribute to cybersecurity improvement initiatives, including process improvements, automation opportunities, prototype concepts, or backlog recommendations when they improve mission resilience and execution discipline.
  • Prepare clear reports, briefings, spreadsheets, risk summaries, technical assessments, and decision-support products for government leadership and program stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with systems engineering, mission integration, acquisition support, digital engineering, and mission-performance teams to ensure cybersecurity is treated as an integrated program concern rather than a stand-alone compliance activity.
Required Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in cybersecurity, systems security engineering, cyber program support, mission assurance, ground systems, space systems, or related national security programs.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, United States Space Force, Intelligence Community, NRO, SSC, SDA, MDA, or related government mission environments.
  • Experience working with government program offices, development contractors, systems engineering teams, and cyber stakeholders in a technical advisory, SETA, FFRDC, prime, or government support capacity.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity engineering, vulnerability management, security controls, risk management, accreditation or authorization activities, incident/deficiency tracking, and cyber readiness concepts.
  • Ability to translate cybersecurity findings, technical risks, and mitigation needs into actionable program-office recommendations, acquisition inputs, and executive-level decision materials.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity within complex software-intensive, ground, space, command-and-control, mission-data, or satellite communications environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to operate effectively across technical, acquisition, contractor, and operational-user communities.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with national security space ground systems, mission processing, satellite communications, command-and-control, radar/RF sensing, remote sensing, ISR/GEOINT, or mission-data architectures.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity integration for a major defense acquisition program, future-development effort, or transition from development and test into operational sustainment.
  • Familiarity with RMF, NIST guidance, DoD cybersecurity policy, DevSecOps, Agile delivery, vulnerability scanning, SIEM/logging, endpoint or configuration-management concepts, and security test activities.
  • Experience with cyber tool implementation, configuration baselining, process improvement, prototype development, or automation that improved operational resilience or workforce efficiency.
  • Experience supporting acquisition artifacts such as SOWs/PWSs, CDRLs, RFPs, source-selection inputs, cyber requirements, milestone reviews, and contractor oversight.
  • Professional certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, SANS/DevSecOps, or relevant DAU cybersecurity/acquisition training.
  • Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, engineering, information technology, mathematics, physics, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
Clearance & Additional Requirements
  • Active Secret clearance required; TS/SCI eligible.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the work and access to U.S.-only systems and data.
  • Ability to travel to temporary work locations up to 10%, as needed.
