Full Job Description
Job Summary:

The Senior Customer Quality Engineer, Software serves as a technical leader and strategic partner within the software quality organization. They are responsible for defining and driving quality engineering best practices across multiple development teams and projects. This role provides technical guidance on test strategy, automation frameworks, and validation methodologies to ensure scalable, reliable, and high-performing software delivery. The Senior Customer Quality Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to influence design and architecture decisions for testability, oversee complex system testing efforts, and proactively identify quality risks. They will mentor other engineers, champion continuous improvement initiatives, and lead the development of advanced automation and tooling solutions to elevate overall product quality and efficiency.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead planning, design, and execution of software quality strategies and roadmaps across multiple programs to align with organizational goals and drive measurable improvements in product quality and delivery efficiency
  • Ensure adherence to change management and compliance standards across programs, identifying gaps, recommending process improvements, and driving consistency across teams
  • Review, influence, and validate customer software requirements to ensure quality processes, risk mitigation, and testing strategies meet or exceed expectations
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on DO-178, providing guidance on process implementation, tool qualification, certification readiness, and risk assessment across complex software products
  • Drive compliance with AS9100 and AS9115 standards, leading audits, certification activities, and corrective/preventive action initiatives to ensure organizational readiness
  • Partner with System Test and Development teams to optimize test strategies, implement advanced automation frameworks, and proactively identify and prevent defects across products
  • Champion Agile quality practices and continuous improvement in software development, integrating metrics, feedback loops, and automation to enhance velocity and reliability
  • Apply advanced quality management methods, tools, and metrics to monitor program health, identify trends, and ensure delivery of reliable, defect-free software across multiple systems
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance on quality best practices, fostering the growth of engineers and promoting a culture of excellence and accountability
  • Lead preparation, review, and presentation of technical material, certification documentation, quality reports, and risk assessments for internal leadership, regulatory authorities, and customers

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in software quality engineering, systems engineering, or related technical disciplines
  • Proven expertise supporting complex software integration, system verification, and acceptance testing across multiple programs
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies, with demonstrated ability to influence process improvements
  • Advanced experience developing and executing comprehensive software test plans, automation strategies, and quality frameworks
  • Strong knowledge of DO-178, AS9100, and AS9115 standards, with experience leading compliance and certification activities
  • Hands-on experience configuring and testing airline features, hardware, and rack systems in an In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) environment
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor engineers, and drive quality initiatives across development and test organizations
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical issues into actionable improvements

Benefits

The starting pay range for this position is $97,500 - $130,000 per year however, base pay offered may vary depending on the level of the position, skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location.
