As a senior member of the team, you will serve as a trusted advisor to both internal stakeholders and external decision-makers, influencing strategic initiatives and helping shape the commercialization of Credit and Risk Solutions across the region. You will engage in discussions ranging from foundational credit risk concepts to enterprise-wide, multi-product analytical solutions involving quantitative modeling, regulatory compliance, workflow optimization, and digital transformation initiatives.

The Senior Credit & Risk Solutions Product Specialist serves as a strategic subject matter expert and trusted advisor, partnering closely with Sales Leadership, Relationship Management and Product Management. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, client retention, solution adoption, and market expansion across the Credit Risk Solutions portfolio, including RatingsDirect, Credit Companion, Credit Memo Builder, Credit Analytics, RiskGauge, Credit Assessment Scorecards, and related datasets and workflows.
This individual will develop deep expertise across the broader Credit & Risk Solutions ecosystem while serving as a market-facing thought leader capable of articulating complex business challenges and designing sophisticated, multi-product solutions that deliver measurable client value.
Responsibilities: Strategic Revenue Leadership - Serve as a senior commercial partner to Sales, Relationship Management, and regional leadership teams in developing and executing growth strategies across key accounts and market segments.
- Lead complex solution-oriented sales engagements, supporting opportunities from initial executive-level discovery through commercial negotiation and contract execution.
- Drive strategic cross-sell, upsell, and client expansion initiatives across Credit Risk Solutions and adjacent S&P Global Market Intelligence offerings.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders, helping them align credit risk, regulatory, compliance, investment, and operational objectives with S&P Global capabilities.
Subject Matter Expertise & Thought Leadership - Serve as the recognized regional expert across the Credit Risk Solutions portfolio and broader credit ecosystem.
- Lead executive-level product demonstrations, workshops, strategy sessions, and consultative engagements with prospects and clients.
- Deliver market insights on trends in credit risk, quantitative modeling, private credit, regulatory developments, ratings usage, and portfolio management practices.
- Represent the organization externally through conferences, webinars, industry events, client advisory boards, and thought leadership initiatives.
Solution Design & Client Advisory - Lead complex discovery and diagnostic engagements, identifying client business challenges and architecting tailored solutions utilizing multiple data, analytics, and workflow offerings.
- Develop compelling business cases and value propositions that articulate measurable return on investment and strategic business impact.
- Partner with clients to optimize workflows related to credit underwriting, portfolio management, regulatory compliance, investment research, counterparty risk, treasury, procurement, and enterprise risk management.
Product Strategy & Market Intelligence - Act as a strategic liaison between the market and Product Management, providing structured client feedback, competitive intelligence, emerging market trends, and enhancement recommendations.
- Influence product roadmap decisions through deep understanding of client workflows, industry evolution, and commercial opportunities.
- Collaborate with Product Leadership on go-to-market strategy, product launches, pricing initiatives, packaging enhancements, and commercialization priorities.
Leadership & Organizational Influence - Mentor and develop junior product specialists, sales teams, and commercial stakeholders on product knowledge, industry trends, and consultative selling best practices.
- Partner with regional and global colleagues across Americas, EMEA, and APAC to drive consistency, knowledge sharing, and strategic initiatives.
- Act as a key contributor to organizational planning, commercial strategy development, and execution of regional growth objectives.
- Lead internal enablement efforts, providing advanced training and guidance to sales and relationship management organizations.
Client Success & Retention - Partner proactively with strategic clients to maximize adoption, utilization, and long-term value realization.
- Support executive business reviews, renewal negotiations, and strategic account planning activities.
- Champion client success initiatives aimed at improving retention, increasing product penetration, and strengthening strategic partnerships across key accounts.
Compensation/Benefits Information:S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $ 99,000.00 to $175,000.00 Annual. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits. What We're Looking For: Basic Required Qualifications: - 8+ years of relevant experience in credit risk, fixed income, financial institutions, capital markets, commercial banking, investment management, market data, financial technology, or enterprise risk solutions. Prior experience in a product specialist, solutions consulting, pre-sales, consultative sales, credit analyst, or client advisory role is preferred.
- Deep understanding of credit markets, credit risk assessment, financial statement analysis, ratings, credit scoring, counterparty risk, portfolio monitoring, and/or regulatory and compliance workflows.
- Strong commercial acumen, with a proven ability to support revenue growth, client retention, cross-sell / upsell initiatives, and strategic account development. Experience engaging with senior client stakeholders and translating complex business needs into actionable solution strategies is required.
- Willingness to travel as needed across the region, in accordance with company policy.
- Excellent executive presence, communication, presentation, negotiation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to simplify complex analytical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Additional Preferred Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field required; MBA, Master's in Finance, CFA, FRM, or equivalent professional certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, consultative client engagements, including executive-level discovery, solution design, product demonstrations, business case development, and commercial conversations.
- Strong understanding of credit risk solutions, data, analytics, and workflow platforms.
- Highly collaborative team player with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities, client engagements, and strategic initiatives across different market segments and geographies.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to mentor colleagues, support enablement initiatives, share best practices, and contribute to the development of team knowledge and commercial excellence.
