Job Description

Cintas is seeking a Senior Counsel I - Corporate to provide in-house legal services to the Company with particular emphasis on contract review and negotiation.

Key Responsibilities:
• Draft, review, structure and negotiate commercial transactions on a day-to-day basis.
• Assists in the development of strategic legal positions and ensures consistency, efficiency, and effectiveness in legal positions, pleadings, briefs, and discovery responses.
• Independently oversee a large docket of federal and state litigation, administrative proceedings and arbitrations involving injury, contract (business), property damage and environmental law dispute, from cradle to grave, including management of local counsel, risk assessment, oversight of case discovery, participation in mediation and settlement conferences, and case resolution.
• Increase the effectiveness of the delivery of legal services through the use of preventative law such as proactive involvement, early identification, and resolution of potential issues/disputes.
• Collaborate, provide direction, and support Cintas division leadership with negotiating terms and conditions of new or renewed customer and vendor contracts.
• Work directly with customers and vendors and internal partners in negotiating terms and conditions and responding to bids, requests for proposal, etc.
• Train partners on contract terms and conditions as well as government compliance matters will be required.

Skills/Qualifications

Required:
• Juris Doctorate Degree
• Admitted to a state bar
• 3+ years' full-time relevant legal experience
• Have an active driver's license
• Must be willing to travel extensively and on very short notice.
• Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and intranet/internet

Preferred:
• Experience with proper compliance procedures and industry practices with respect to federal, state and local government contracts.
