Your work will include supporting licensing and collaborations, as well as asset deals and M&A projects and other commercial matters for AstraZeneca. We're looking for a skilled, ambitious lawyer to help AstraZeneca become a world leader in our therapeutic areas of focus, including Oncology, Biopharmaceuticals (including cardiovascular, renal & metabolism; respiratory & immunology; and infectious disease therapies) and Rare Disease. Your specialist expertise will be key to achieving this ambition!
What you'll doIn this Global role, you'll provide legal advice across AstraZeneca's global organization, working closely with senior leaders. Using your knowledge of licensing, IP, commercial and corporate law you will provide drafting, negotiation, and business counsel support to lead the legal support for key transactions, driving projects to completion and helping to mitigate critical legal and business risks. The role will see you personally handling complex legal matters, interpreting and drafting contracts, and taking a global perspective and your work may involve overseas travel. You'll foster a culture of knowledge-sharing and collaborative working with your counterparts across the Legal function.
Essential for the role- Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal degree with admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
- 5+ years of experience with pharmaceutical related licensing and collaboration work, supporting Business Development teams
- Knowledge of and experience working in the life sciences sector
- Strong leadership capabilities

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $184,228.00 - 276,342.00 USD. Our positions offer eligibility for various incentives-an opportunity to receive short-term incentive bonuses, equity-based awards for salaried roles and commissions for sales roles.
