Full Job Description
We currently have an immediate opportunity for a Senior Cost Accountant to join the CORPORATE FINANCE group at our ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA location. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: The Sr. Cost Accountant position is responsible for cost accounting function by applying principles of cost accounting while conducting studies which provide detailed cost information within all US Plants' production lines; monitoring actual performance against standard; report Plant Financial & Operational variances to management for decision-making purposes. Assist in the development of controls, procedures and systems related to Cost Accounting and Inventory Management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/JOB DUTIES: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. 3 Reviews manufacturing operations data to identify cost savings opportunities. 3 Provide reporting of the key performance indicators for the US plants, yields; efficiency and quantify their respective financial impact. 3 Work with Plant's Finance & Operations Teams to provide cost analyses as appropriate and identify areas of cost improvements. 3 In conjunction with Plant Controllers provide new product costs and updated customer price lists in a timely manner. 3 Perform post launch audits of new SKU's to ensure accuracy of Pricing structure. 3 Perform post launch audit of Capital projects justified by Labor or Operational improvements. 3 Performs margin analysis on a per SKU, per customer basis and report to management. 3 Identify areas of improvement /weaknesses within the Plant's manufacturing floor and suggest improvement as appropriate. 3 Manages preparation and execution of annual standard cost roll at all US Plant. 3 Generate Ad-Hoc information (Operational related) to support the analysis of business performance. 3 Works within cross functional teams to ensure best use of systems, processes are utilized to educate and affect the decision-making process. 3 Provide analytical support to the Site Plant Management, or other Senior Management as requested. 3 Assist in establishing and implementing consistent cost accounting policies, methods and practices for the company. 3 Performs other duties as assigned. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED: 3 In depth knowledge of cost accounting theory and methodology and the ability to apply it in a practical way to the business environment 3 Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; and 4-7 years of related, progressive work experience 3 Advanced knowledge of MS Office application, (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 3 Experience working with JDE systems 3 Ability to complete multiple tasks under time constraints 3 Excellent communication skills (oral and written), including the ability to interact well with all levels of management, team members and external stakeholder SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: 3 Skill in data entry with strong attention to detail and accuracy 3 High level of organizational skills, good written and oral communication skills 3 Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and meet deadlines 3 Must be able to multi-task, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow-up when responses are needed 3 Excellent relationship management skills e.g. must be able to interface with different levels of associates 3 Strong work ethic 3 Results orientation, and positive and professional service attitude.
