We are seeking a Senior Cost Accountant to lead cost accounting activities in a manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate product costing, inventory valuation, and financial reporting while driving process improvements and supporting operational decision-making.
Your Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance standard costing systems (material, labor, overhead)
- Analyze manufacturing variances, cost of goods sold, and profitability
- Oversee inventory accounting, reconciliations, and physical counts
- Support month-end close, journal entries, and financial reporting
- Evaluate cost impacts of product, material, and process changes
- Partner with operations and supply chain to improve cost accuracy and margins
- Support capital projects, fixed assets, and cost tracking
- Assist with audits and ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
- Drive continuous improvement in processes and ERP systems
Your Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of cost accounting experience in manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of standard costing, inventory, and variance analysis
- SAP ERP system experience and advanced Excel skills
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
