OverviewThe Senior Cost Accountant is responsible for plant-level cost accounting, including inventory, standard costing, and the monthly financial close for the Pennsylvania and Arizona plants. Under the guidance of the Plant Controller, this role partners with plant leadership to provide financial insights, ensure compliance with accounting policies and internal controls, and support budgeting, ERP initiatives, and operational decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for monthly plant financial close process areas including inventory, work-in-process (WIP), manufacturing variances, accruals, and related cost accounting activities
- Manage and maintain inventory valuation, standard costing, and cost driver configuration within the ERP system to ensure accurate product costing
- Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, internal controls, and audit requirements while maintaining strong financial governance
- Partner with plant leadership to provide cost visibility, analyze manufacturing performance, and explain operational and production variances
- Support the annual budgeting and forecasting process by providing cost analysis and financial insights into plant operations
- Assist with ERP system implementations and enhancements, including plant costing configuration, system testing, and process validation
- Prepare and post journal entries related to inventory, manufacturing costs, accruals, and other plant accounting activities

- Involves extensive computer systems/software operation and regular use of office equipment
- Work is primarily sedentary

Qualifications
- Bachelor27s degree in accounting or finance
- 8+ years of accounting experience
- Strong Microsoft skills with Word, Excel, and Power BI
