Full Job Description
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The Senior Corporate Accountant is a key member of the accounting team, responsible for overseeing complex financial processes and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data. The Senior Corporate Accountant will act as a mentor to junior team members and assist the Corporate Controller in driving efficiency and compliance across the organization.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:
  • Assist with the training and onboarding of the corporate accountant.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly corporate financial statements.
  • Manage and review account reconciliations and transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Perform reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis to support corporate department budgeting and forecasting.
  • Record expense allocations and chargebacks across various departments and communities, ensuring accurate cost distribution and recovery.
  • Reconcile medical self-insured plans, tracking claims against amounts deducted from employee wages, and ensuring accuracy in reporting.
  • Review fixed assets, focusing on new acquisitions such as vehicles and equipment, to ensure proper recording and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Assist with implementation and improvement of existing internal controls.
  • Monitor and analyze monthly expenses, research any unusual items.
  • Assist corporate teams with questions arising during the month and provide accounting assistance/training as necessary.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to gather and analyze financial data for decision-making support.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Controller, AP Supervisor, Property Managers, and other departments to support company initiatives.
  • Contribute to the team's effort by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed.
  • Comply with all Southern Management's policies and procedures.
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by Manager.
