Overview

WHO are we looking for?

CAPTRUST is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Senior Content Specialist to lead content development and enablement support for the Retirement and CAPTRUST at Work business lines. This role develops, refines, and manages advisor-facing, client-centered, and internal content that advances business development and strategic priorities. Working closely with Sales Enablement colleagues, Marketing partners, and subject matter experts, the Senior Content Specialist translates complex concepts into clear, compliant, and sales-ready materials. The role combines hands-on content creation with content planning, governance, lifecycle management, and advisor readiness across assigned audiences.

Responsibilities

Success in this role requires balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution. The Senior Content Specialist will be expected to deliver clear, compliant, and differentiated content; improve the organization and usability of the content library; strengthen advisor readiness for priority initiatives; and use performance insights to continuously improve content effectiveness.

Content Strategy, Development and Governance:
  • Draft, edit, and update sales enablement and internal-facing content using firm-approved messaging, templates, and disclosures
  • Develop advisor-facing, client-centered, and internal content that advances the priorities of the Retirement and CAPTRUST at Work business lines
  • Repackage approved content into multiple formats (presentations, one-pagers, FAQs, internal guides, scripts, and toolkits) to support sales readiness and internal alignment
  • Ensure all content aligns with CAPTRUST's brand voice, positioning frameworks, and compliance standards.
  • Develop and maintain an annual content roadmap for the Retirement and CAPTRUST at Work business lines, aligned with business priorities, product initiatives, advisor needs, and key sales opportunities
  • Translate business-line strategies into prioritized content and enablement plans, identifying required materials, audiences, delivery channels, dependencies, and launch timing
  • Proactively identify content gaps, duplication, and opportunities to consolidate or modernize existing materials
  • Develop content mapped to distinct audience needs and stages of the sales and client journey, including prospects, plan sponsors, participants, advisors, relationship managers, and internal partners
  • Adapt complex retirement, workplace financial wellness, and employee engagement concepts into clear, audience-appropriate narratives and calls to action
  • Ensure materials work together as a connected content ecosystem rather than a collection of standalone deliverables
  • Design a scalable content architecture for Retirement and CAPTRUST at Work that connects core messages, audience needs, sales stages, and delivery formats
  • Define review cadences, ownership, and decision criteria for updating, archiving, and retiring content across the two business lines
  • Define content standards that promote consistent naming, organization, and use across platforms, channels, and audiences
  • Monitor priority content for accuracy, compliance, currency, and continued alignment with business priorities, escalating needed updates before materials become outdated

Messaging Architecture and Consistency:
  • Maintain business-line messaging frameworks, value propositions, proof points, key messages, and approved language for Retirement and CAPTRUST at Work
  • Ensure consistent positioning across presentations, proposals, campaigns, digital experiences, talking points, and internal enablement resources
  • Partner with stakeholders to translate new capabilities, services, research, and market developments into differentiated, sales-ready narratives

Content Performance and Optimization:
  • Define success measures for priority content and enablement initiatives, including adoption, utilization, stakeholder feedback, sales relevance, and content effectiveness, and use those measures to guide ongoing optimization
  • Use available platform insights, user feedback, and business results to recommend content improvements, consolidation, retirement, or additional development
  • Provide periodic reporting on content health, usage, gaps, and opportunities to business-line and Sales Enablement leaders

Content Governance and Lifecycle Management:
  • Build, organize, and maintain a scalable library of Retirement and CAPTRUST at Work content
  • Manage content lifecycle processes including inventory management, scheduled reviews, updates, archiving, and retirement of outdated materials
  • Establish content standards, metadata, tagging, and governance practices that improve content discoverability and usability
  • Ensure all content remains accurate, compliant, current, and aligned with business priorities

Sales Enablement Planning and Advisor Readiness:
  • Serve as the primary content and enablement partner for assigned business-line stakeholders, translating priorities into clear deliverables, timelines, and coordinated execution
  • Provide end-to-end enablement support for new initiatives, including readiness planning, playbook development, pitch-material creation, launch coordination, and post-launch optimization
  • Develop launch and readiness plans that help advisors and internal partners understand, position, and confidently use new content, services, and campaigns
  • Create facilitator guides, training materials, talk tracks, objection-handling resources, discovery questions, and practical use-case guidance
  • Partner with Sales Enablement colleagues to support webinars, office hours, training sessions, and other field activation programs
  • Gather structured feedback from advisors and business partners to refine messaging, materials, and enablement approaches

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, English, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience developing content in financial services, wealth management, investment advisory, retirement services, or another regulated industry.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to translate complex financial and retirement planning concepts into compelling, audience-specific content.
  • Experience supporting advisor, consultant, or relationship-management audiences.

  • Familiarity with content performance metrics and analytics.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, prioritize competing requests, and deliver high-quality work across multiple deadlines in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly PowerPoint and Word, and experience managing or publishing content in Seismic. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics and Asana is preferred.
