Description & Requirements

The Senior Consultant - Tax Client & Operations role partners closely with Engagement Executives, Relationship Executives, Tax Quality Leader, and key stakeholders to support the operational execution of client tax engagements. Serving as a central liaison between clients and internal tax teams for certain clients, this role ensures timely, high-quality delivery through strong coordination, communication, and workflow support. With a strong emphasis on high touch service for sophisticated, high impact clients, the role proactively manages timelines, risks, and client expectations while enabling a seamless, white glove client experience and continuous improvement across the Tax practice.

What You Will Do:

  • Assist tax department leadership with day-to-day operations of the Tax practice, including engagement letter workflows, operational governance, and process accountability across the tax lifecycle
  • Design and manage the Tax operational cycle calendar to ensure continuity, scalability, and consistent delivery
  • Drive proactive operational discipline and continuous improvement to reduce administrative burden and increase efficiency
  • Collaborative end-to-end project management for Tax engagements and initiatives, from intake and scheduling through execution, delivery, and close-out
  • Establish and manage project plans, milestones, dependencies, and ownership across multiple concurrent engagements
  • Proactively identify risks, bottlenecks, scope creep, and underperforming engagements; support Engagement Executives with recommended corrective actions and escalate as needed
  • Deliver a high-touch, white-glove client experience for sophisticated, high-impact clients, including families, family offices, and high-net-worth individuals
  • Serve as the primary operational liaison between clients, Relationship Partners, Engagement Executives, and internal tax teams
  • Manage client expectations through structured communication, timelines, and follow-ups, clearly distinguishing operational support from technical tax advice
  • Plan, schedule, and facilitate client meetings and interactions, ensuring effective agendas, materials, and follow-through
  • Collaborate with tax team by executing information gathering processes for tax compliance, quarterly tax estimates and consulting projects with technology systems such as Tax Caddy to support efficient, high-quality delivery
  • Balance client schedules, internal capacity, and risk considerations to communicate delivery timelines effectively
  • Assist with billing activities, including draft invoice preparation, analysis and billing-related coordination. Support alternative billing initiatives and identify expanded client billing opportunities in partnership with Relationship and Engagement Executives
  • Prepare and maintain engagement letters and powers of attorney, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution
  • Maintain accurate client records and engagement documentation across firm systems
  • Monitor relevant client, industry, and regulatory developments and share insights to support proactive client service

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher required
  • 2 years of professional client-facing experience required
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in financial services, wealth management, financial planning, accounting, tax services or banking
  • Project Management certification is a plus
