About the Role

In FTI Consulting's Corporate Finance & Restructuring segment, we focus on our clients' strategic, operational, financial, and capital needs by addressing the full spectrum of financial and transactional challenges faced by corporations, boards, private equity sponsors, creditor constituencies and other stakeholders. We are a global consulting firm with over 7,000 employees worldwide with a team of over 100 employees located in every major location in Canada. We operate in small engagement teams to provide direct hands-on experience to our clients.

What You'll Do

The Senior Consultant will work with clients in domestic and multinational companies across various and diverse industries. Some of the job responsibilities will include:
  • Oversee the day-to-day financial activities of restructuring and/or transactions advisory engagements
  • Apply business, accounting, finance and analysis skills to various client situations and practice disciplines
  • Review financial statements and perform quality of earnings/cash flow analysis
  • Prepare and/or review complex financial projections to model business processes and/or transactions
  • Assess business plans, cash flows, and analyze large amounts of data associated with restructuring plans
  • Conduct financial due diligence and financial analysis of clients and potential target companies
  • Understand all aspects of the client's business including review of operational and financial performance
  • Draft written reports and/or presentations on the project scope, findings and/or results of activities
  • Work with the client's senior management, restructuring / legal / finance experts on work engagements
  • Manage the engagement team and provide coaching to junior team members

What You Will Need To Succeed

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, Economics, or Finance
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant post-graduate experience
  • Understanding of financial statements and corporate functions
  • Advanced Excel modelling and PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to travel to clients and FTI office(s) as needed up to 60%
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in Canada on a full-time basis; this position does not provide visa sponsorship


Preferred Qualifications
  • CPA, CFA or MBA preferred
  • Relevant experience in a professional services firm (public accounting, consulting, etc.)
  • Advanced problem-solving and issue resolution skills
  • Professional verbal and written communications, including report writing
  • Strong interest in finance and working in a professional services environment
  • Ability and willingness to learn and adapt in an ever-changing environment to meet client needs


Compensation

Minimum Pay: $92,000
Maximum Pay: $142,000
