The Role:

WTW is looking for an energetic individual with experience/expertise in activities relating to growth, pharmacy benefit management, growth, clinical pharmacy, and/or client facing roles to join our growing mid-market (MM) pharmacy team. As a MM-focused Pharmacy Consultant, you will be at the forefront of managing pharmacy benefits projects for clients and leveraging your experience as a pharmacy benefits expert to make recommendations on plan design and management. You will participate in new business activities and the creation of new intellectual capital. You will position yourself to grow into a senior relationship management and/or leadership role by serving as the subject matter expert on pharmacy projects and working alongside industry experts on cutting-edge solutions. The ideal candidate is a client-centric problem solver who possesses the ability to balance member experience, financial considerations, client clinical/program needs and business growth. You will collaborate with a strong team of highly experienced consultants within the practice as well as engage in cross-functional activities. Pharmacy Benefit Management experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the day-to-day lead for pharmacy benefit engagements on a portfolio of medium-sized clients materially contributing to project planning, execution, and delivery while ensuring alignment with client objectives, budgets, timelines, and quality standards
  • Lead internal project teams and coordinate with analysts and cross-functional partners to deliver high-quality outcomes
  • Review, interpret, and validate pharmacy analytics and financial outputs to ensure accuracy, integrity, and actionable insights
  • Serve as a pharmacy subject matter expert in prospecting discussions, articulating WTW's value proposition and differentiators
  • Stay current on emerging pharmacy trends and integrate insights into client deliverables, sales materials, and practice intellectual capital
  • Support clients in navigating pharmacy concepts, strategies and results that effectively drive action and improve plan performance, by preparing teams for meetings, supporting the senior pharmacy consultant preparation, and/or directly presenting in meetings
  • Assist senior pharmacy consultants with client projects and activities including contract review, audits, and vendor negotiation activities
  • Has experience across all PBM/Pharmacy activities and demonstrates knowledge of emerging trends and best practices
  • Understand and address client needs and preferences; anticipate questions in advance and identify solutions
  • Leverage knowledge of industry trends, available products/solutions and carrier/vendor differentiators to inform and influence client Pharmacy strategies
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with employer and vendor primary contacts to build and enhance WTW and Health & Benefit's brand
  • Develop initial drafts for all types of Pharmacy deliverables
  • Provides leadership to more junior colleagues on pharmacy concepts, strategies and tools
  • Conduct quality reviews for junior colleagues on all types of Pharmacy deliverables
  • Build relationships internally and collaborate effectively on cross-functional teams
  • Actively support new business and prospecting activities including proposal response drafting and virtual finalist meeting attendance
  • Contribute to intellectual capital development
  • Contribute pharmacy and other related perspectives to the broader health and benefits strategy and growth


Qualifications

The Requirements:
  • 5+ years' experience in one or more of the following: pharmacy benefit management, c clinical strategy, analytics, growth and/or consulting
  • Deep understanding of the pharmacy benefit management and US healthcare ecosystems, at a PBM, carrier/health plan, health tech company or as a benefits consultant
  • A dynamic, strategic thinker not afraid to challenge the status quo by asking the hard questions
  • Able to change ambiguity into clarity, action and outcomes in a high-paced environment that requires the ability to multitask and prioritize.
  • Passionate about patient outcomes, client relationships and working with cross functional teams
  • Engaging speaking skills with an ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively; ability to speak credibly about clinical, technical, financial aspects of WTW's offerings
  • Experience in training/mentoring junior staff
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint
  • Availability to travel on an as-needed basis (travel estimated at 25%)
  • Bachelor's degree required, Master's and/or PharmD degree preferred
  • For pharmacists: actively licensed in home state and in good standing
  • State Life and Health license required within 90 days of joining
