Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Consultant to join our Launch and Commercialization team. This role is crucial in delivering high-impact consulting services to our clients, primarily pharmaceutical manufacturers. The Consultant will be responsible for managing projects, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring the successful execution of market access assessments, launch strategies, market forecasting, payer research, stakeholder engagement, and mapping. The individual will lead and be accountable for the delivery of project components as part of cross-functional teams. The role requires expertise in Canadian market access, pricing, policy and a knowledge of forecasting and strategic planning.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide external clients with strategic advice related to potential product market access, using PDCI internal data, client external data and McKesson internal data. This advice will inform our clients' critical business decisions concerning market entry for their products.
  • Manage Projects: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of consulting projects, ensuring they meet client expectations and project timelines.
  • Lead research and analyses for client market access assessments. This requires preparing, assessing and advising clients and internal McKesson partners on current and emerging market access issues affecting biopharmaceutical products.
  • Synthesize, interpret, and communicate clinical data, market data, and policy information to deliver strategic advice on product value, market potential and uptake, and reimbursement scenarios/options for market access.
  • Provide external clients with a strong knowledge of HTA processes, and expertise in private and public reimbursement trends, and policy/reimbursement environments affecting market access.
  • Demonstrate and apply subject-matter expertise to develop high-quality, reliable, and consistent deliverables that meet/exceed client expectations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally leading project components, the review and critical appraisal of evidence and pricing objectives.
  • Independently or under limited direction, provides solutions to complex problems, working cross-functionally with project teams
  • Assess and advise clients on product market forecasting and segmentation by payer type (public/private), regionally and over various time horizons as part of biopharmaceutical launch planning, pCPA and payer negotiations, reimbursement, list price management, and payer relationship cultivation.
  • Support strategic development and building of budget impact analysis models for client reimbursement submissions and lead model and report adaptations for various Canadian payers according to their requirements
  • Maintain and establish good client relationships to support business development, support client engagement activities to grow business relationships and opportunities.
  • Market Access Assessment: Conduct comprehensive market access assessments to identify opportunities and challenges for new product launches.
  • Launch Strategy Development: Develop and implement robust launch strategies that align with client objectives and market dynamics.
  • Market Forecasting: Utilize advanced analytical tools and methodologies to create accurate market forecasts and scenario analyses.
  • Payer Research: Conduct in-depth payer research to understand reimbursement landscapes and inform pricing strategies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Mapping: Identify and engage key stakeholders, including payers, healthcare providers, and patient advocacy groups, to support market access and commercialization efforts.
  • Strategic Advisory: Provide strategic advice to clients on market access, pricing, and commercialization issues, leveraging industry best practices and innovative approaches.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor and ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with team members, contributing to a high-performance team environment.


Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in life sciences, health economics, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in market access, pricing, and commercialization within the pharmaceutical industry or consulting.
  • Must be fully comfortable and confident meeting with clients and communicating complex issues, implications and recommendations simply in both written and verbal formats.
  • Proven track record of managing consulting projects and delivering high-quality results.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
  • In-depth knowledge of global healthcare systems, reimbursement processes, and market access strategies.
  • A growth mindset, expert problem-solving, strategic thinking, and analytical expertise are imperative for growth in this role.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
