Salary range (but not limited to):
94,200 - 115,200

Incentive plan
Annual bonus: 12% target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to 200% (subject to personal and company performance)

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, location etc. The salary range presented below is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. However, we encourage candidates who may fall outside of this range to apply as well.

About the role

We are looking for a Senior HR Consultant to join BrokerLink in our Calgary location !

As a Senior Human Resources Consultant, you will provide professional coaching and human resources guidance and advice to our business partners, considering best practices while being aligned with the laws, regulations, and corporate values.

This role would be ideal for someone who would enjoy the challenge and wide scope of responsibility and consulting opportunity. We are looking for an individual who can provide practical and straightforward advice and support. You know how to anticipate problems and can act to avoid them early on. You have achieved success both through your own efforts and through collaborating with others. You are comfortable working autonomously and communicating with a remote team.

What you'll do here:
  • Provide guidance and direction to managers and employees on matters pertaining to employee relations, performance management, disability management, the interpretation and application of company policies and employment legislation and change management initiatives.
  • Challenge the status quo by analyzing the facts, asking questions, adding new perspectives, and thinking strategically.
  • Participate in national and/or strategic projects, play a key role in our ongoing transformation and deployment of corporate initiatives and programs.
  • Conduct investigations and assist managers in conflict management and other issues.
  • Work with business partners to identify talent management strategies that drive the retention, development, and progression of individuals throughout the company.
  • Make salary recommendation based on compensation best practices.
  • Ensure consistent understanding and delivery of HR policies and programs within the assigned client group.
  • Support the acquisition and integration process within the assigned client group.


What you bring to the table:
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree with a Human Resources specialization
  • 5+ years of related experience as a HR Business Partner/Senior Consultant
  • Proven ability to quickly establish and cultivate effective working relationships with business partners at all levels of the organization and influence their decision as necessary
  • A flexible, agile, and resilient approach to working in a dynamic ever-changing work environment
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal, strong ability to influence and relational ease with all hierarchical levels.
  • Proven track record of critical and strategic thinking to solve operational and / or complex problems.
  • Ability to evolve in a multi-site, matrix organization and in a constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong organization, rigor, analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Technical, up-to-date expertise in Human Resources and employment legislation
  • Knowledge in all areas of human resources including talent management, performance management and employee relations, disability management, change management, engagement, compensation, organizational development, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Suite.
  • CHRP and/or CHRL designation in progress is an asset.
