Full Job Description
What You'll Be Doing:

  • Lead client engagements and projects from project kickoff through execution and delivery, focusing on retail electric cooperative clients (e.g., cost-of-service/wholesale-to-retail pass-through, rate design, forecasting, scenario analysis, regulatory support)
  • Develop financial, cost-of-service, and forecasting models; evaluate scenarios and quantify impacts of strategic decisions (e.g., alternative retail rate structures, power supply procurement decisions, regulatory changes)
  • Provide clear, actionable recommendations to clients and present findings to senior stakeholders (board, executive management, regulatory staff)
  • Mentor and oversee junior consulting staff; provide guidance on analytical work, modelling, client engagement, and professional development
  • Contribute to business development, help define project scopes, prepare proposals, build client relationships, and enhance service offerings
  • Stay current on market, regulatory, utility business model and industry trends relevant to retail electric cooperatives
  • Travel to client sites or meetings as required


What You Bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor's degree (required) in engineering, business, mathematics, finance, economics, or a related discipline; Master's or MBA preferred
  • Typically, 7-10+ years of relevant experience - consulting or industry experience in electric utilities or related sectors (especially retail/wholesale interface, rate design, cost-of-service, forecasting, regulatory) preferred but not mandatory
  • Strong analytical, modelling and problem-solving skills; demonstrated ability to convert complex data/analysis into business-relevant insights and recommendations
  • Excellent client-facing communication and presentation skills; ability to engage senior stakeholders and build trusted relationships
  • Ability to mentor/coach junior staff and work in team leadership roles
  • High level of organization, self-motivation, ability to manage multiple work-streams and deliver high-quality work on schedule
  • Familiarity with utility business models, electric markets, rate design, cost recovery, forecasting and regulatory dynamics is highly desirable
  • Willingness to travel occasionally


Essential Physical Functions:

  • Sit/stand at a desk or computer
  • Walk, stoop, stand and move around job sites
  • Travel and occasional site visits requiring stooping, standing, and lifting up to 30 lbs.
  • Frequent communication via phone, video, or in-person meetings
  • Ability to focus on digital and paper-based information for extended periods
  • Some project-based travel may be required
