This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for an Senior Consultant to join the Grants Strategy and Development Team in our Florida or Texas offices. The following locations will be considered: Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tallahassee, Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio, and open to other offices. WSP's Grants Strategy and Development Team supports our clients in planning, securing, and managing grant funding from federal, state, and local sources. We offer clients the technical and strategic experience to navigate every stage of the grant lifecycle, from strategy to close-out.

The Senior Consultant role is a senior position within the Economics, Finance and Grants team, which offers great opportunities for professional growth. You will work directly with public and private organizations across the country to lead infrastructure-related engagements and provide expert grant management services to support investment, funding, and delivery decisions.

Your Impact
  • Lead post-award grant management and compliance strategies for public infrastructure projects, on behalf of clients, and in collaboration with the Advisory team and other WSP practice groups
  • Contribute to various business development efforts with a particular emphasis on building the Grant Strategy and Development Team's portfolio of post-award grant management support contracts - from opportunity identification, proposal development, interview and negotiations
  • Leverage professional network across industry to support business development opportunities, marketing, proposals, and cross-selling of other WSP capabilities
  • Contribute to client engagement and foster client relationships
  • Demonstrate knowledge of Federal regulations and grant requirements, ensure all grant activities are compliant with Federal guidelines including 2 CFR 200 (Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles, and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards).
  • Manage and oversee the development of complex post-award grant deliverables such as preparing milestone/progress and financial reports, obligating grant funds and managing grant agreements, conducting subrecipient oversight, and grant closeout.
  • Take initiative and work collaboratively with other team members to deliver high-quality deliverables and client services
  • Serve as task lead / key staff for grant assistance contracts; manage scope, schedule, and budget
Who You Are

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Policy, Urban or Transportation Planning, or related discipline.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience performing complex grant functions, including grant writing for federal discretionary programs, executing grant agreements, post-award grant administration, and grant accounting functions such as reconciliations, reimbursement requests, and financial reporting.
  • Previous experience supporting business development efforts, shaping pursuit strategy, and securing new advisory engagements with public- and private-sector client.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with multiple deadlines and flexibility to adapt to unanticipated client requests for grant development and/or management support
  • Experience with post-award grant management platforms such as the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Transit Award Management System (TrAMS)
  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of conduct and related policies and procedures.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Policy, Urban or Transportation Planning, or related disciplines
  • Demonstrated ability to engage effectively with private- and public-sector clients, including federal, state, regional, or local agencies
  • Familiarity with administration of grants related to energy, water, and other infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of federal and state-level infrastructure policy and funding
  • Familiarity with non-Federal grants, such as State grants from California, Florida, New York and other States
  • Active member of local professional organizations

Compensation:

Expected Salary (all locations): $89,600 - $156,600

WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.

Expected Salary (Colorado only): $89,600 - $130,600
