Position Summary
The Senior Tax Consultant, Credits & Incentives supports and participates in credits and incentives procurement projects for DMA clients and provides related consulting services. This role is responsible for advanced research, analysis, and execution of incentive opportunities, with exposure to complex projects across multiple industries, including data center and power-related engagements. The Senior Tax Consultant works closely with managers and senior leaders, contributes to client delivery, and supports the development of junior team members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in and support credits and incentives projects for DMA clients
Conduct research and analysis of state, local, federal, and utility incentive programs
Prepare documentation, applications, and supporting materials related to incentive opportunities
Coordinate with internal teams and assist in interactions with clients and economic development officials
Support project execution by managing assigned tasks, timelines, and deliverables
Assist with preparation and maintenance of work-in-process (WIP) reports
Support client meetings and presentations as needed
Assist in evaluating incentive opportunities for existing and prospective clients
Maintain working knowledge of credits and incentives programs, regulations, and trends
Assist in researching and addressing technical or project-related issues
Provide informal guidance and support to junior team members
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
3+ years of experience in credits and incentives, property tax consulting, or a related discipline
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Valid driver’s license
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week
Travel: Less than 10%
Physical Activity:
Ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Travel as required
