Your Opportunity

Stantec's Program Management Construction Management Group is seeking a Construction Manager to work on large, complex transportation construction projects with construction values more than $500M.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all phases of large, complex construction projects serving as a client liaison and leading project teams.
  • Engage in the Construction Management community, mentor staff, and document lessons learned.
  • Support recruitment by screening candidates, interviewing, and collaborating with HR on employment offers.
  • Supervise design-phase constructability and sequencing reviews.
  • Manage bid phase activities: pre-bid meetings, contractor inquiries, addenda issuance, bid evaluations, and award recommendations.
  • Direct preconstruction planning, approve procedures and tools, and review contract documents for construction phase readiness.
  • Manage multiple large, complex projects simultaneously.
  • Oversee day-to-day construction management to ensure compliance with design, budget, and schedule; enforce contractor compliance.
  • Act as a liaison with clients, agencies, and stakeholders; represent company at meetings and public forums.
  • Monitor contractor schedules and address delays.
  • Review inspection reports, material test reports, RFIs, submittals, schedules, shop drawings, change orders, and pay applications for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate activities across disciplines and resolve project issues promptly.
  • Implement and enforce company, client, and project policies, procedures, best practices, standards, quality frameworks, and proper use of IP and reusable assets.
  • Promote and ensure adherence to company and client health and programs.
  • Oversee post-construction closeout, including final deliverables, punch lists, warranties, and invoicing.

Education and Experience
  • Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is required. Construction Manager Certification (CCM) is an asset.
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or other related engineering field is required.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience, including experience working on large, complex transit projects with construction value more than $500M.
  • Minimum 4 to 5 years of experience successfully executing technical aspects of a wide range of medium to complex projects, including Alternate Project Delivery (APD).


Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
