Position Overview

Power your future with Qualus as a Construction Manager in our Construction Mangement department. This role will be responsible for field construction oversight of power generation projects.

Responsibilities
  • Manages and inspects the day-to-day activities of multiple contractor crews simultaneously.
  • Facilitates the replacement and/or installation of electric infrastructure equipment and ensures that all safety standards, company construction standards, company specifications, and governmental regulations are met.
  • Work with all stakeholders including third party consultants, contractors, and client management to maintain construction schedules, ensure work is completed on time and within budget, and per company standards.
  • Makes the proper notification to all federal, state and local agencies before, during and after construction as required.
  • Prior to commencement of construction, coordinates with customer(s) at the jobsite to determine specific customer requirements, construction sequencing and provides site readiness verification.
  • Maintains frequent and regular contact with contractor supervision regarding job performance and documents results appropriately.
  • Ensures that the terms and conditions of the contract and technical specifications are met.
  • Makes the necessary field decisions regarding job changes and communicates them as necessary to the Supervisor and Program or Project Manager; documents all job changes to ensure compliance and ensures the updates get documented in the appropriate information technology systems.
  • Regularly communicates job status to the appropriate parties to facilitate scheduling commitments.
  • Maintains customer coordination during construction phase and conducts job walk-down with customer and contractor at job completion.
  • Performs storm duty assignments as needed.
  • Reports to service center, jobsite, or remote location.
  • Lead all Environmental Health and Safety (HSA) activities and reporting
  • Monitoring the safety, environmental, and quality management of the work
  • Represent client in the field and coordinating with the EPC contractor to ensure construction and commissioning work is performed in accordance with project documents, codes, and good industry practice.
  • Review engineering drawings
  • Lead meetings with the project team and EPC
  • Provide input to daily/weekly/monthly reports
  • Manage and resolve issues and non-conformances
  • Support and drive issue resolution and lessons learned
  • Act as the client’s quality assurance and perform routine audits of the EPC QA/QC program, document and provide reports
  • Document findings in the field through field observation reports
  • Lead system turnover walkdowns and verification
  • Provide input to Entergy’s Project Controls in project quantity tracking and progress reporting

Qualifications
  • Field Construction oversight experience
  • Electrical or mechanical oversight experience throughout a plant environment
  • Strong communication, management background, ability to stop work when needed
  • Safety focused
  • OSHA 30 Certification
