Full Job Description
The Senior Construction Cost Specialist will join a team of experts developing cost data products designed to restore confidence in construction cost data. The ideal candidate will have expertise in one of the following fields: civil construction, plumbing systems, HVAC systems, or electrical systems. The individual must be willing to work in a team environment, coordinating efforts across disciplines for unified development of our cost data products, including items for new construction, renovation, maintenance, life cycle costs, and discipline-specific specialty cost collections. Responsibilities • Research, develop, validate, and maintain discipline-specific construction cost data, including items for new construction, renovation, maintenance, life cycle costs, and discipline-specific cost collections. • Work closely with a team of subject matter experts. • Coordinate efforts across the team to unify cost data. • Cost data development will reflect current and realistic material, equipment, and labor efforts. • Implement emerging trends and technology into current and future cost data. Job Requirements • Must have bachelor's degree in a relevant field and a minimum of 10-years' experience (or 15 years of experience without a degree). • Experience in construction cost estimating and field experience in one or more disciplines (including civil, plumbing, electrical and HVAC). • Candidates must have expert-level knowledge of practices, equipment and materials used in construction. • Candidates require good writing skills, good verbal communication skills, and attention to detail; and work well independently and collaboratively. • Able to work in Windows based and Cloud-based software programs. Preferred Experience • Experience working with cost estimating software. • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. • Familiarity with CSI MasterFormat. • Ability to work autonomously. • Comfortable with a collaborative work environment. • Strong initiative. • Knowledge of emerging trends, methods, and technologies in the construction industry. • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines.
