Description

Are you interested in creating and working with innovative tools to advance radio frequency (RF) signature analysis capability? Do you enjoy working in a creative environment with an integrated team of highly motivated radar engineers, scientists, and software developers? If so, we are looking for someone like you to join our team at APL!

In this role, you will participate in evolving the state of the art in high fidelity RF signature modeling. You will work on a team utilizing high-performance computing environments to develop detailed signature characterization capabilities that are used in a variety of applications. In addition, you will collaborate with model users and system engineers to enable best use of products.

As a Computational Electromagnetic Modeling Engineer, you will...
  • Develop and use computational electromagnetics codes to model radio frequency signatures of various radar targets.
  • Participate in developing and testing advances in computational electromagnetics codes and the development of new models of various phenomenologies.
  • Plan for RCS measurements of various test articles at national facilities.

  • At least 10 years of engineering-related experience in developing computational electromagnetic theory and computational methods/mathematics software
  • Familiarity with Matlab, Python, or similar mathematical analysis tools
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time, if needed
  • Are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately obtain a Top Secret level clearance. If selected, you will be subject to a government security clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.

  • Experience with commercial EM software packages .
  • Current Top Secret clearance.
