Full Job Description
JLL is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced candidate for the position of Senior Project Manager, Commissioning. As a Senior Project Manager, you will play a critical role in providing reliable, timely, and efficient support to our Commissioning & Building Analytics (CBA) team. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing complex projects in various industry sectors, working with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will have a proven track record, possess strong leadership skills, and excel at problem-solving and decision-making.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrated fluency in all commissioning processes and deliverables covered in ASHRAE, CSA, and LEED commissioning requirements.
  • Expertise in mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment/systems inspections, testing, and associated commissioning activities.
  • Monitor, review, and execute all facets of Commissioning related projects, providing exceptional technical expertise and field activities throughout the design, pre-construction, construction, and post-construction phases.
  • Collaborate with team members, outside consultants, and contractors to lead cross-functional teams on various projects.
  • Possess a deep understanding and capability to develop robust Commissioning Plans and Commissioning Specifications.
  • Jointly manage commissioning projects, including the development of commissioning activity schedules and sequence-of-work.
  • Lead comprehensive field-based commissioning activities, including site visits, the development and approval of start-up and test forms, as well as managing, directing, and witnessing the execution of Functional Test scripts and Integrated Systems Test scripts.
  • Perform thorough Commissioning Design Drawing & Specification Reviews, as well as Submittal (shop drawing) reviews.
  • Chair Commissioning Meetings, ensuring effective coordination and communication among stakeholders.
  • Proficient in the use of calibrated testing equipment used in the commissioning process, such as flow hoods, anemometers, pitot tubes, IR cameras, Power Quality Meters, and various meters.
  • Possess extensive knowledge and experience in testing mechanical and HVAC&R systems, building management & automation systems, plumbing equipment and systems, lighting controls systems, and normal/emergency power systems.
  • Develop, track, and effectively resolve issues using an Issues Log.
  • Demonstrate the ability to develop and execute seasonal/performance tests.
  • Ability to develop and compile project documentation into site/project-specific Systems Manuals.
  • Demonstrate the capability to develop, review, and evaluate training programs for installed equipment and systems.
  • Provide comprehensive support for all project documentation requirements.
  • Perform all field activity components proficiently and effectively.

Additional Expectations:
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% to client sites across the USA to oversee project implementation and provide support.
  • Assist the team in meeting the demands of a heavy workload.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and assignments concurrently.
  • Possess strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.

Qualifications:

Required:
  • A recognized university technical degree or equivalent. Engineering Degree is preferred.
  • Extensive experience using mechanical testing meters and equipment to analyze and report on test results, including portable data loggers, air flow meters, TAB reports, etc.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant mechanical or electrical engineering and/or field-testing experience.
  • Strong data management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office products.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and organize multiple project schedules concurrently.

Desired:
  • Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) designation is considered an asset.
  • Any combination of Certified Energy Manager (CEM), Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP), Certified Commissioning Process Management Professional (CPMP), Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP), or Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA) designations is considered an asset.
  • LEED AP certification is preferred, demonstrating an understanding of sustainability concepts.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally when needed to support global projects.

Proficiency in using electrical testing meters and equipment to analyze and report on test results, including Power Quality Meters (PQM), thermography, NETA tests, ground tests, hi-pot, megger, etc., is an asset.

Estimated compensation for this position:

120,000.00 - 160,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
