Senior Commissioning Manager (Industrial)

Location: St. Louis-based with local project assignments or full-time travel opportunities

Position Description

The Senior Commissioning Manager is a technical leader responsible for planning, coordinating, and leading commissioning activities across complex industrial projects. Supporting mission critical, manufacturing, food & beverage, and advanced industrial facilities, this role ensures building systems are installed, tested, integrated, and turned over safely, efficiently, and in alignment with client expectations.

Working alongside project teams from preconstruction through startup, this individual develops commissioning strategies, identifies and mitigates technical risks, coordinates system integration, and drives operational readiness. The Senior Commissioning Manager also serves as a technical resource to the organization by mentoring project teams, developing best practices, and continuously improving PARIC's commissioning capabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead commissioning strategy from preconstruction through final turnover.
  • Develop commissioning plans, startup sequencing, and operational readiness strategies.
  • Coordinate testing, startup, and system integration for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, process utilities, and life safety systems.
  • Partner with project teams, design consultants, trade partners, vendors, commissioning agents, and clients to ensure successful system performance.
  • Identify and mitigate commissioning, schedule, and operational risks early in the project lifecycle.
  • Lead commissioning coordination meetings and support issue resolution during startup and turnover.
  • Ensure projects are delivered with complete documentation, training, and successful owner handoff.
  • Mentor project teams and help establish commissioning standards, tools, and best practices across the Industrial Group.


Skills and Qualifications

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience managing MEP systems, commissioning, startup, or industrial construction projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, controls, and integrated building systems.
  • Experience delivering complex industrial, manufacturing, mission critical, or food & beverage facilities.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.


Preferred:
  • Experience working with commissioning agents and owner operations teams.
  • Knowledge of commissioning best practices, startup planning, and integrated systems testing.
  • Familiarity with BIM, scheduling software, and construction management platforms.
