Full Job Description
The Opportunity
As a Senior Commercial Credit Analyst, you'll evaluate the risk of extending credit by reviewing borrower and guarantor financial information and turning your analysis into clear recommendations for lending decisions. You'll take ownership of the bank's most complex credit relationships while serving as a go-to resource for the analyst team.
Key responsibilities include spreading and analyzing financial statements and tax returns; completing global cash flow and collateral analysis; preparing independent credit memos and loan presentations; completing annual relationship/loan reviews; partnering with lenders to gather and clarify financial details; and reinforcing credit policies while offering feedback on department direction.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 4-5 years of commercial credit analyst experience in a banking environment
- Strong credit risk assessment, financial statement analysis, and memo/presentation writing skills
- Knowledge of banking accounting rules, regulations, and policies
- Advanced Excel/Microsoft Office skills
- Clear communication and mentoring/leadership ability
If you're ready to make sound, well-supported credit decisions, apply today.
A Typical Day
Your day is anchored in focused analysis and timely collaboration. You'll start by prioritizing a pipeline of higher-complexity relationships, then move between deep review work and quick touchpoints with lenders to confirm assumptions, clarify documentation, and align on next steps. Expect time blocked for building clean, decision-ready narratives-translating numbers into concise conclusions-and for keeping annual reviews moving forward. As questions come in, you'll pause to coach newer analysts, helping them think through structure, cash flow, and risk. You'll wrap up by checking progress against deadlines, noting any policy considerations, and preparing what's needed for upcoming committee or approval conversations.
