What this job involves

The EDP Cloud & DevOps team builds and runs the cloud infrastructure, deployment automation, and enterprise architecture standards that every data and platform team at JLL Technologies depends on. We're looking for an experienced Cloud engineer to own end-to-end design of cloud solutions, drive DevOps and CI/CD best practices, and raise the bar on governance and quality across our Azure and AWS environments.

You'll bring 7+ years of hands-on cloud and DevOps experience, a track record of leading multiple large or complex infrastructure projects, and the judgment to set technical direction across scrum teams without needing to be told what "good" looks like.

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will have ownership over cloud architecture, deployment automation, and platform reliability across the Enterprise Data Platform. Your work directly serves the data engineering, platform, and application teams who build on top of the infrastructure you design, they depend on you for environments that are secure, scalable, and easy to ship into.

Your mission is to make cloud infrastructure and DevOps practice a force multiplier for engineering, not a bottleneck. This is an opportunity to define how JLL Technologies builds, deploys, and governs cloud infrastructure at enterprise scale, and to see that standard adopted across multiple engineering teams.

Cloud Architecture & Solution Design

• Act as cloud architect for the Data Platform team, designing end-to-end solutions across compute, networking, identity, storage, and messaging, not just deployment pipelines

• Drive cloud architecture decisions across Azure and AWS, ensuring solutions are secure, scalable, and cost-optimized

• Define enterprise architecture patterns and cloud best practices that scale across multiple domains and teams

Deployment Automation & CI/CD

• Architect and automate deployment solutions across cloud services, including containerized workloads, serverless, and data/messaging services

• Standardize CI/CD best practices , pipeline design, branching strategy, automated testing, release gating, and rollback

• Lead infrastructure-as-code adoption (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or CloudFormation) across Azure and AWS

Container Orchestration & Platform Engineering

• Manage shared Kubernetes cluster architecture, including namespaces, multi-tenancy, RBAC, and workload isolation

• Understand cluster networking (CNI, network policies, service mesh) well enough to design for it and troubleshoot it

• Evaluate and introduce new tooling that improves automation, deployment speed, and reliability

Governance, Quality & Reliability

• Establish observability standards, monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing, across services and environments

• Define and enforce data and infrastructure governance practices so quality and compliance scale with the platform

• Lead incident response and post-mortems for infrastructure and deployment issues

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

• Mentor engineers on the team in cloud architecture, DevOps practice, and troubleshooting

• Recommend and drive adoption of best practices across scrum teams within the domain

• Act as a technical escalation point for complex architecture, deployment, and infrastructure issues

You thrive at the intersection of technical depth and cross-team influence — equally comfortable designing a disaster-recovery strategy and explaining why it matters to a room of stakeholders. You challenge the status quo when a process or architecture no longer scales, and you'd rather fix the root cause than patch around it. You take ownership of outcomes across team boundaries, and you enjoy raising the technical bar for the engineers around you.

Required Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Cloud Architecture, DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure Engineering, including multiple large or complex projects

• Hands-on experience designing end-to-end enterprise cloud solutions, not just deploying to existing architecture

• Deep CI/CD expertise (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or GitLab CI)

• Broad Azure and/or AWS experience across compute, networking, identity, storage, and messaging

• Proven Kubernetes experience, including shared or multi-tenant clusters

• Strong infrastructure-as-code experience (Terraform, Bicep, ARM, or CloudFormation)

• Working knowledge of data governance and quality practices as they apply to cloud and infrastructure platforms

• Strong cross-functional communication, particularly with data engineering and security teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with GitOps tooling (e.g., ArgoCD) for declarative, automated application deployment

• Familiarity with DevSecOps practices and embedding security throughout the deployment lifecycle

• Experience operating in a multi-cloud or hybrid (cloud + on-prem) network environment

• Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, AWS Solutions Architect, or CKA

This range represents the estimated base salary and actual compensation may differ. Final base salary is determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations. Some roles and employees may be eligible for discretionary bonuses, benefits, or other compensation.
