Job Description:

This position plays a strategic role in operationalizing and advancing AdventHealth's clinical informatics vision. This role combines deep clinical workflow expertise with advanced system knowledge to drive optimization, clinician engagement, and technology-enabled care transformation. Acting as a senior bridge between frontline clinicians, leadership, and IT teams, the senior advocate influences informatics strategy execution, supports governance activities, and helps ensure technology solutions enhance patient safety, clinician well-being, and care delivery across the continuum.

  • Brings strong leadership, initiative, and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Serve as a senior clinical informatics resource supporting complex clinical workflows and system optimization across facilities or service lines.
  • Lead informatics support for enterprise initiatives, EHR upgrades, testing efforts, and major go-live activities.
  • Act as a trusted clinical informatics liaison for nursing, providers, and clinical leaders, proactively addressing workflow, adoption, and optimization needs.
  • Champion clinical documentation standards, advanced decision support tools, and patient safety initiatives within the EHR.
  • Collaborate with training, governance, and IT teams to design and deliver advanced education and workflow optimization strategies.
  • Lead or co-lead workflow redesign initiatives to improve clinician efficiency, satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and care quality.
  • Partner with clinical leaders to scope, prioritize, validate, and implement optimization and enhancement requests.
  • Onboard, provide mentorship, guidance, informal leadership, to associate and intermediate informaticists.
  • Support informatics services across inpatient, ambulatory, procedural, and virtual care environments.
  • Contribute to regional or enterprise informatics governance, standards development, and performance improvement efforts.
  • Primary schedule is Monday-Friday, with some night and weekend work is required.
  • May have on-call expectations and responsibilities to support our clinicians and IT systems, as well as supporting projects, implementations, and downtimes.
  • Utilize active clinical licensure and frontline clinical expertise to support clinical workflow optimization, promote safe and compliant use of healthcare technologies, and provide guidance on documentation, patient care processes, and operational best practices within the EHR.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Advanced experience with EMR systems (Epic preferred). [Required]
  • Expert understanding of clinical workflows, documentation standards, and regulatory requirements. [Required]
  • Demonstrated ability to lead informatics initiatives and mentor others. [Required]
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 office products [Required]
  • Proficient with Data Analytics, Epic Reporting Tools and data visualization tools [Required]


Education:
  • Bachelor's [Required]
  • Master's [Preferred]


Field of Study:

Licenses and Certifications:
  • Registered Nurse (RN) [Preferred] OR
