Full Job Description
JOB SUMMARY

A Senior Client Service Engineer at Doble Engineering will be responsible for providing engineering support to entities of the power utility industry that subscribe a Doble Service Agreement. The role includes providing technical and application support on Doble products, analysis of test results, training and consultation on power apparatus. Senior Client Service Engineers will be involved in supporting R&D related to application and product development and will provide assistance to the field service and test department. Engineers will be expected to participate in various technical conferences sponsored by Doble and other organizations.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Provide technical and application support on Doble products, analysis of test results, training and consultation on power apparatus
  • Support Research & Development relating to application and product development
  • Publish technical articles and participate in various technical conferences sponsored by Doble and other industry organizations
  • Function as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in a particular discipline
  • Engage in more advanced diagnostic areas of expertise
  • Write technical reports for diagnostic analysis with no review required in most cases
  • Provide training to Doble Clients at a high level
  • Responsible for all custom agenda planning and scheduling decisions
  • Provide expertise to others in the CS department as well as to other departments within Doble, and make appropriate decisions regarding that internal support

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree, or higher, in Electrical Engineering is preferred. Related technical disciplines will be considered. Individuals with alternative technical training, 10 years of utility experience specifically focused on power apparatus, and familiarity with Doble products will be considered in lieu of a degree.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • 5 years of utility or similar experience specifically focused on power apparatus
  • Familiarity with Doble products
  • Previous experience in the power utility industry and familiarity with electrical substation apparatus
  • Understanding of diagnostic test techniques for high-voltage power apparatus
  • A solid commitment to customer service is required
  • The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner
  • Travel is required 30% of the time to both domestic and international locations for periods that are typically 6 days (Sunday to Friday) and rarely exceed 14 days.
  • The ability to multi-task and be flexible as the daily routine includes frequent client interactions
  • Must manage job assignments which frequently change to meet client needs
  • Must have experience and willingness to teach and work outdoors in energized substations

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The candidate must be able to clearly and concisely express their opinion
  • Good presentation skills will be required to conduct product training, marketing demonstrations and technical presentations at various forums and to audiences with varying skill set
  • Requires a solid command of English, however fluency in another language is a plus
  • A solid commitment to customer service is a must
  • The ability to conduct oneself in a professional manner
  • The ability to multi-task and be flexible. The daily routine includes frequent telephone interruptions. Job assignments frequently change to meet client needs.
  • The willingness to work outdoors, in an energized substation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is often required to stand, sit, use computers, read, write, type, use copy machines, file paperwork, use telephones, and utilize written and oral communication to interact with clients, co-workers, and customers. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job. Must be capable of lifting 30 pounds. Must use assistance when lifting 50 or more pounds.

Actual base salary offered to the hired applicant will be determined based on their work location, level, qualifications, job related skills, as well as relevant education or training experience.
Salary Pay Range Minimum $119,686.87 - Midpoint $149,608.59
