The Senior Civil - Wet Utilities Engineer is a senior-level infrastructure engineering role based in Vancouver, BC, Canada, supporting the delivery of major municipal and transportation projects. The position leads civil and wet utilities components within multidisciplinary project teams, with responsibility for advancing projects from early concept through detailed design and construction phases.

The role focuses on water, storm, and sanitary infrastructure, including water main relocation and sizing, drainage systems, and integration with roadway rehabilitation and reconstruction activities. Work is delivered within public-sector and regulated municipal environments, requiring coordination with transportation, dry utilities, and other infrastructure disciplines.

The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in municipal civil engineering, wet utilities design, and project leadership, with the ability to manage technical scope, mentor teams, and contribute to proposal development and business growth initiatives within large infrastructure programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Reporting to the Project Manager, the Civil/Utilities Lead, will be responsible for supporting the overall success of Major Projects in Canada.
  • Oversee team performance to ensure project goals and deadlines are met.
  • Lead and manage the civil / utilities components of major projects from inception to completion (this could include but, is not limited to, water main relocation and sizing, storm and sanitary design, as well as supporting other dry utilities and transportation activities such as road rehabilitation/reconstruction and drainage improvements).
  • Provide mentorship and resolve conflicts to maintain efficiency and collaboration.
  • Advancing projects from concept to construction, ensuring compliance with standards and client needs.
  • Prepare technical designs, specifications, reports, and proposals.
  • Understand industry trends while building strong client relationships.
  • Pursue new business opportunities in municipal infrastructure and public sector projects.
  • Lead RFQ and RFP proposals, delivering innovative, client-focused solutions.
  • Manage project budgets and monitor financial performance.
  • Oversee schedules to ensure on-time delivery and alignment with goals.
  • Develop strategies to expand market presence and boost revenue growth.


Qualifications
  • University degree in Engineering, with an Ing. or P.Eng. designation preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in engineering design, project management, or business development within the municipal sector.
  • Demonstrated expertise in transportation infrastructure design and delivery.
  • Experience leading and managing teams of professionals.
  • Strong analytical, synthesis, and problem-solving abilities, coupled with a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • Proven organizational capabilities and a flexible, solution-driven approach to challenges.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English - French considered and asset.
