External Description: Job SummaryProvide technical support in the Nuclear Strategic Projects Balance of Plant department for the
Salem Power Uprate Project. The successful candidate will perform the duties as a Civil/Structural Design Engineer for the power uprate for Salem Units 1 and 2. The engineer is responsible for designing and implementing civil and structural power uprate modifications.
Job ResponsibilitiesSome specific duties include:
- Provide technical leadership to ensure plant modifications and project activities comply with structural engineering standards, codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Interface with Project Manager, contractors and engineering staff to ensure that Engineering deliverables meet the overall project goals.
- Provide field support during modification walkdowns, installation, testing and as-built verification.
- Comply with regulatory requirements including 50.59, License Amendment Request preparation and any required supporting analysis.
- Perform other assigned duties as determined by the Balance of Plant Engineering Manager.
- Assigned duties in the Emergency Response Organization.
Job Specific QualificationsRequired:
- BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related Engineering / Technical degree.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in civil engineering
- Availability for shift work during installation.
- Must meet nuclear requirements for unescorted plant access.
- Must possess a valid US driver's license and maintain a satisfactory driving record.
- A valid Real ID or an approved form of alternate documentation (https://www.pseg.com/IDrequirement) is required for this job. Must provide appropriate documentation to meet access requirements on the date of hire.
Desired:
- Power uprate experience at a pressurized water reactor (PWR)
- Prior Design Engineering configuration control qualifications
- Professional Engineering license (NJ or other state)
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
