Job DescriptionYour OpportunityStantec's New York City office is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer with minimum of 15 years of engineering design experience to lead the pursuit and delivery of urban infrastructure projects in the New York Metropolitan area. This position would assume a senior leadership position with expectations for further growth by leading client meetings, performing financial and schedule management, coordinating tasks and personnel, and providing technical leadership and mentoring of junior staff. This individual will help shape and develop our talented local team while being an integral part of Stantec's continued growth in the region and country.
Your Key ResponsibilitiesProject Delivery- Oversee and manage multiple projects serving as the Project Manager, Technical Lead, and/or Task Manager for civil infrastructure projects.
- Plan, organize, and manage the production of project deliverables to ensure on-time delivery, technical quality, and within budget.
- Lead project coordination meetings with clients, agency stakeholders, and internal disciplines.
- Serve as the project's point of contact with clients, agencies, and others to obtain and determine project requirements and approvals.
- Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
- Manage and monitor schedule and budget performance of assigned projects.
Supervise and Mentor Developing Professionals- Provide direct and indirect supervision to staff; develop staff skills and abilities by providing mentorship to strengthen technical abilities and guide career development.
- Review team's work and provide technical guidance on design approaches and challenges.
- Personal guidance on technically complex projects and act as a resource by providing guidance to other team members.
Support Business Development Activities- Develop positive relations with existing and prospective clients.
- Create proposal documentation including project scope, budgets, and design approach for projects of all sizes.
- Manage scope and deliverables with internal disciplines and external subconsultants.
- Coordinate and develop proposal graphics illustrating technical scope.
QualificationsEducation and Experience- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (New York State preferred or able to obtain within 6 months of start date)
- Minimum of 15 Years of Engineering experience.
Typical office environment and field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the agreed number of working hours per week.
