Description

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Environmental Services global practice in Englewood, CO. We are searching for a self-motivated and experienced professional civil engineer to lead a civil engineering and construction planning program for transmission line repair and reconstruction work. This role combines program management, technical leadership, client engagement, and team mentorship responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead civil engineering project teams, providing technical direction, oversight, and quality review of civil engineering
  • deliverables.
  • Apply technical expertise of commonly used civil engineering and construction principles, practices, codes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with project team members on land use planning, permitting, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Oversee project execution, including responsibility for resource management forecasting.
  • Provide quality review of production drawings and commercial bid packages to verify design compliance with project, client, and industry standards and requirements, including constructability.
  • Participate in the development of project schedules, scope, budget, staffing, and construction planning.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, financial performance, schedule, risks, and key issues.
  • Develop and manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and cost controls.
  • Facilitate clear and effective communication across project teams.
  • Assist with recruiting, development, and training of staff.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering program from an accredited university.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Minimum of 7 years of civil engineering experience. Consulting experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Demonstrated experience overseeing technical design tasks and leading design and construction projects from planning through close-out.
  • Ability to perform quality reviews for detailed engineering documents and specifications.
  • Strong knowledge in civil engineering principles.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with coworkers, clients, and regulators.
  • Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid driver's license required. In addition, must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy.
  • Available for travel as necessary (approximately 10% travel)

Compensation

$150,000.00-210,000.00 Yearly

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
