Job DescriptionOverviewWe are currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join our growing engineering team. In this role, you will support major nuclear projects including the DNNP SMR program, providing technical expertise in civil and structural engineering.
This position is based in Mississauga, Ontario, with opportunities for periodic site visits. This is a permanent, full-time position.
Your role- Perform civil/structural engineering work in compliance with QA programs, codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Plan and independently execute engineering assignments, including structural and seismic analysis/design of steel, concrete, and masonry structures using industry software.
- Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed designs, and prepare/review deliverables such as calculations, reports, drawings, and specifications.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, vendors, and support procurement activities (e.g., EQRs, vendor document reviews).
- Provide technical leadership, mentor junior staff, lead defined work scopes, and participate in design reviews, planning, and technical meetings.
- Support project execution through site visits, construction/commissioning assistance, issue resolution, and ensure quality, schedule, and budget targets are met.
About you- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario or eligibility to obtain registration.
- 8+ years of civil/structural engineering experience, preferably in heavy industry or nuclear sector.
- Strong expertise in structural and seismic analysis and design.
- Proven experience preparing engineering deliverables and applying relevant codes/standards (e.g., CSA, ASME).
- Ability to work independently on complex assignments with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
