About the Role.The Senior Claim Analyst, Litigation Specialist is a key member of the PURE Casualty Claims team reporting to the Casualty Litigation Manager. The Litigation Specialist may be based remotely out of their home, or in a regional PURE office. The primary goals of this position are to deliver flawless service to our members and broker partners, while handling a pending caseload of primarily third-party, litigated claims in full compliance with good faith claim handling standards and in accordance with PURE's Best Claim Practices.
What You'll Do.Claims handling:
- Handle a target pending caseload of 125 - 150 litigated exposures, ranging in value of up to $750k.
- Manage incoming new loss volume, phone calls, emails, and system data in a timely manner. This includes newly received lawsuits, time limited demands, etc. Evaluate and process transactions, including invoice and budget review, in claim and policy administration systems. Input all claim data for reporting.
- Analyze coverage under the policies. Draft Reservation of Rights ("RORs") letters, and disclaimer letters. Communicate coverage positions to PURE Members and brokers in professional manner.
- Investigate new losses through outside vendor resources in a timely and effective manner, including taking statements as needed, preserving evidence, etc. Formulate a "Joint Strategy Agreement" ("JSA") that documents your defense strategy based off known evidence; partner with defense counsel to bring strategy to life.
- Evaluation and reserve injury claims to their settlement value. Own all aspects of negotiation and claim resolution. Complete in a timely and efficient manner maintaining a 1:1 closing ratio.
- Draft high quality "Large Loss Notices" ("LLNs") for senior leadership.
- Attend mediations and trials, often in person, to represent the company and effect settlement negotiations as warranted. Travel on behalf of the company as needed, which may range up to 50% during busy months.
Customer Service:
- Provide a superior customer service experience for our Members and broker partners.
- Establish a cadence for updates to the Member/broker, then adhere to the cadence to ensure that all updates are timely delivered, and our partners are always knowledgeable regarding the claim's development.
What You'll Need. Technical Experience:
- 8+ years of direct casualty experience.
- 5+ years of direct experience in handling both Auto & General Liability litigated files, complex first and third-party bodily injury and complex coverage claims.
- Proven ability to handle complex first and third party Auto and GL bodily injury and coverage claims including, but not limited to, exposures of $250K plus.
- Experience handling litigated files as well as files that involve arbitration and mediation, including in person attendance at legal proceedings as required.
- Experience within the high-net-worth industry a plus.
- Working knowledge of excel, word, and email applications.
Education/Continuous Education requirements:
- Bachelor's degree is preferred.
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development including completion of one or more advanced educational or industry designations such as JD, MBA, CPCU, AIC, or CCLA.

The base salary for this role can range from $110,000 to $125,000 based on a full-time work schedule. An individual's ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
